Original Item: Only One Available. The belt with open claw belt buckle was original worn during the Weimar Reichswehr era and continued into the Third Reich with minor modifications enacted in May 1934. The open claw belt buckle was authorized for wear by almost all political and military organizations during the Third Reich period with a variety of different institution dates. When worn by political personnel the buckle color was to match the button color of the uniform worn and when worn by military personnel the buckle color reflected Company and Field Grade or General Grade Officer ranks with silver for the Company and Field Grade ranks and gold for General Grade Officer ranks. During the Third Reich there was a prescribed form of wear of the belt and buckle with the buckle being positioned on the right side.

The German’s concern with leather shortages was evident as early as September 1939 when issue of the traditional tall leather marching boot was restricted to personnel serving in the field. During the war further leather shortages resulted in additional regulations that limited or restricted leather usage and included the narrowing of the standard 60mm, (2 1/2"), wide Officer’s leather belts to 45mm, (1 3/4"). Later in the war they also began to use Preßstoff Faux Leather in place of animal leather.

This is a lovely condition pre/early war Wehrmacht Heer Army officer's open claw belt, made from wider early 60mm width light brown leather and fitted with a large nickel plated zinc buckle. It is marked on the back with the "barred A" trademark of F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid, a large maker of belts, buttons, and other accoutrements. It is also stamped on the leather with 289 / Croupon, which could be a maker marking or just specification marking. "Croupon" is a specific area of leather, which is known to be more durable and therefore desirable.

We measured the belt, and it is quite large, measuring 39 inches from the last set of holes to the claws, so it was intended for a larger individual. The belt is still in lovely condition, with the leather very supple, and it looks to have seen light use during the war. There is a bit of wrinkling to the finish, but no cracking or other issues, and the plating on the buckle is very well retained.

Overall condition is very good with an exceptional eye appeal! Ready to display!

Perfect fit. Pls read. Tricky cover removal and cover reinstall..
Perfect fit for 2024 CRV Hybrid Touring. But read if you are DIYing. Its easy but not so easy. Saw a couple of DIY YT videos. Removing the cover is a b*t*h. Use 6mm socket instead of a screw driver. Using socket is very important and a safe bet. The screws are deep and will need several turns to fully unscrew. A magnetic socket is recommended. Don't lose the screw and the 2 washers along with it. Removing the cover is tricky but not hard. Remember, no force is needed anytime during. It slides off of the rubber gasket when you lift a bit and pull it to the right. Once released you need to get it up, out and over that narrow space (the tricky part) to reach the filter. Replace the filter correctly as it has orientation. Putting the cover back is even trickier because the gap is narrower than the cover. Use your brain not force like a puzzle. Once back into the very narrow gap it slides back on the rubber ring/gasket effortlessly. Just double check the alignment before screwing. Absolutely hand turn the screws a good few turns to make sure you are NOT cross threading them before powering (avoid) it. ONLY HAND TIGHTEN SNUG. NO TORQUE NEEDED. I don't like the placement of this engine air filter chamber. Its far back and in a very tight space. Since this is going to be a frequently changed part it should have been more conveniently placed. Not happy with Honda design on this.

Perfect fit 2023 Honda accord hybrid touring
This was the 2nd air filter I purchased of a different brand, the first 1 claimed to fit my 2023 Honda accord but it was too small. This one fit exactly to the spec and it was easy to install myself.
