Overview

The black Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 Multiplayer is the latest flagship, pro-level CD/DVD deck that's equipped to play high-resolution (24-bit / 96 kHz) audio files from several sources. Several upgrades and enhancements have been made, including a redesign of the audio engine, added MPU processor, 9" touchscreen, Pro Link with Gigabit Ethernet, and a rebuilt performance interface.

The audio engine features an internal audio calculation processor with 96 kHz / 32-bit floating in all playable audio formats, which results in a wide and deep reproduction of the original sound source, even with slight changes in the timbre of the low range. Each component in the DAC has been reviewed and tested, resulting in various improvements that drastically reduce digital noise, allowing for a natural sound that the crowd will want to listen to for long sets at high volume.

The MPU's processing power has been updated with exciting functions and provides a path for more advanced features in the future. The operation system runs faster, smoother, and is more reliable than previous models. A Gigabit Ethernet port provides a wider and faster throughput of information, allowing for up to six players to be connected. The build of the enclosure and components have been upgraded with a high-quality aluminum top plate and redesigned Play, Cue, and Hot Cue buttons. The power cord features a V-Lock, which prevents accidental disconnections.

The 9" touchscreen is 150x brighter than previous models, allowing you to see it clearly in any environment, even in bright sunny days. With a larger touchscreen, the CDJ-3000 affords many advancements, including extra information, short cuts, and buttons for frequently used categories and functions, such as Playlists and Search. Other notable features include Touch Preview, which allows you to touch anywhere in the waveform when browsing, and Touch Cue, which provides access to another part of a track that's currently playing.

The tactile performance controls have been overhauled and include a redesigned jog wheel that's smooth with 1/2 the touch latency of previous models. The embedded LCD screen displays playhead position and artwork for a quick visual reminder of which tracks are loaded. The CDJ-3000 now offers 8 full-sized Hot-Cue buttons underneath the waveform display. With its linear positioning, the buttons feel more natural when selecting cue points according to the position in the track. The dedicated Beat Jump buttons allow you to jump forward and backward from the current play position. You can set the quantize number of beats to a value of 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64 beats.

The CDJ-3000 plays rekordbox-analyzed music from USB drives via Export mode, or connect your laptop with USB-HID control to use Link Export or Performance mode. Because the unit is a Hardware Unlock device, you can use Performance mode for free. There is no need for a paid subscription plan, so you can play all the tracks in your rekordbox library, including any from Beatport/Beatsource LINK and SoundCloud Go+ (subscriptions required for streaming services).

You can even connect your iPhone to the CDJ-3000 via a USB cable and mix music directly from the latest iOS version of rekordbox, which now supports lossless file types, including WAV, FLAC, ALAC, and AIFF as well as MP3 and AAC. And you can still stream audio from you iOS device wirelessly to any player that shares the same WiFi connection. The CDJ-3000 ships with a stereo RCA cable, a digital coaxial cable, a Pro Link Ethernet cable, a locking power cord, and a download card for rekordbox DJ.

XLR, 1/4” TRS, and RCA input jacks allow you to easily connect to your monitor controller, mixer, audio interface, or portable device.

Slightly Inaccurate but Works Well
Pros: Works perfectly for what I need it for. I use an aeropress and it's super easy to weigh the coffee going in and then the water on top of that. Then start the timer for the brew time and you've got a beautiful cup of coffee! Very bright display, easy to read, and comes with a rubber pad which makes cleanup easy. Cons: Not super accurate, but it's fine for making coffee unless you want to be exact. Sometimes the tare doesn't hold perfectly. For example, put your coffee on the scale. Tare it. Take it off. Put it back on. It might read a tenth of a gram or so one way or the other. Never impacted my coffee routine...

Been working well for over a year
Had this for over a year now and no real issues. The only issue I can think of is that if something is a bit too close to the scale, the scale can fluctuate a bit by a gram or so. Just make sure nothing is touching it, especially anything electronic. Beyond that, it's a no-nonsense scale that works great with actual tactile buttons. Its refresh rate can lag behind a tiny bit, but you get used to it by stopping your pours in anticipation. For example, I typically do 300mL pours in total, and I usually start slowing down/stopping at around 280g. Battery life is pretty good, but the battery life indicator doesn't do a good job of letting you know when you need to replace the batteries. So you may end up with it powering off mid-brew, but I've only had to replace the batteries once despite daily use over the past year or so. That being said, it's useful to also do stuff like the 4:6 method based on water level vs timer too. I'd also say it may not be extremely accurate as sometimes it fluctuates by .1 grams, but it is accurate enough for practical purposes. For reference, .1g is simply ~1 coffee bean, and unless you're an espresso perfectionist, 1 coffee bean isn't going to make any real difference. In summary: + Just the essentials if you only want the essentials + Tactile buttons + Display is pretty nice + Accurate enough for practical purposes + Battery life very good + Will work for at least a year, can't say any longer until I own it for longer + Great for the cost = WIll not refresh weight as quickly as say an acacia scale which costs at least four times as much, easy to compensate for - Battery life indicator isn't great, so it may power off mid-brew every half year or so - Sensitive to adjacent electronic devices, 1 or 2 inches is enough distance - Sensitive to adjacent objects, be mindful of anything that is touching the silicone, even if it's barely touching by a hair

Works Perfectly, Ignore "Drift" Reviews
Color: Onyx Black, Color: Onyx Black
I'm very happy with the accuracy and refresh rate of the scale. The two tone LED color scheme is a nice touch. I also like that the silicone cover is well-affixed to the scale and won't slide around. I only wish the scale came in white! Don't be fooled by other reviews. This scale doesn't "drift" any more or less than any other scale. Those people who say otherwise are likely storing it in a very different temperature environment than their use area. See photos for the test I did with boiling hot water in an uninsulated carafe. 0.0g drift on all tests, with or without the silicone protector, after several minutes of letting the carafe sit on the scale surface. The only time I experienced measurement drift was when I got the package from 30F freezing outdoor conditions, unboxed it and tried it out without letting the scale warm up to ambient. The measured weight slowly dropped until it warmed up to 70F room temp; since then it's been rock solid. That is totally normal for any scale that any manufacturer, cheap or expensive, makes. It's just how this kind of scale works. Overall if you're looking for a nice scale with timer functionality, I highly recommend the Greater Goods scale.
