The Kamuk 48" Rooftop Tent was named after "Cerro Kamuk" located in Costa Rica, which is not only the second tallest mountain in the country, but also the most inaccessible and difficult peak to conquer. Reach the summit requires a 6 day camping expedition that will challenge even the most extreme adventurers.  These was the type of adrenaline lovers Guana Equipment thought of when designing this tent.

This softshell roof top tent features a very unique design that allow its owner to sit a surfboard, kayak, cargo carrier, bike or any other load next to it. Endless carrying possibilities. This was achieved by redesigning how the tent was closed and stored. 

It uses the same unfolding system as a regular roof tent but when closed it's only half the width. This was attained by using retractable inner poles that are easily adjustable from the inside. This means you will have to extend the poles every time you open and close the tent, which sounds like a lot of work, but the simple locking mechanism used makes it a very simple and fast task to do. 

We say it's a low profile tent because although you could store the ladder on top of the tent, it's actually meant to be stored either inside it or elsewhere. You will have to attach it every time you open the RTT but again, this will take you just a minute, and this feature reduces at least 3 inches of height when packed. 

The Kamuk 48" is a 3-Season roof top tent. Its canvas and rainfly are made from 420D waterproof, PU coated, UV resistant polyester oxford canvas and its base comes with a black aluminum plate reinforcement that makes it very tough and resistant to scratches and dents. Also, it comes with a 2.5" thick high density foam mattress. These combination of materials makes it an ideal tent for any type of weather, and if it's very cold just remember to take good bedding!
