Philodendron Paloraense Philodendron paloraense

A rare hemiepiphytic climber native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, named for the Palora canton of Morona-Santiago province where it was collected. It produces elongated, deeply serrated leaves with a distinctive silvery-blue to blue-green hue that develops under good light — a coloration unusual in the genus and one of its primary identifying features. Related to P. holtonianum in its trisect leaf form, and develops increasingly dramatic lobing and silvery coloration as it climbs and matures.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; the silvery-blue leaf coloration is most vivid under consistent good indirect light. Avoid direct sun which scorches the foliage.

  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; excellent drainage and aeration essential. Never waterlogged.

  • Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-79°F; high humidity of 60-80% with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.

  • Watering: Allow the top 1-2" of medium to dry between waterings; keep evenly moist but never soggy. Never waterlog.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports the fastest development of the characteristic mature leaf form. Reduce in winter.

The History Teacher I Always Wished For
Format: Hardcover
With his trademark wit and his eye for those wonderfully absurd details that most historians tend to overlook, Metaxas drew me deeply into the story. I found myself laughing out loud one moment and profoundly moved the next. The tiny anecdotes and humorous asides were not distractions at all — they were precisely what made these towering figures suddenly feel human and unforgettable. Eric makes these historical figures flesh-and-blood again. He brings both heroes and villains vividly to life in a way that makes the drama of America’s birth feel immediate, thrilling, and deeply personal. In short, Eric Metaxas is the history teacher I always wished I had. At 600 pages, this book reads with the ease and momentum of a paperback novel, yet carries extraordinary depth and scholarship. In the end, I came away with a renewed love for American history and a deeper gratitude for the souls who made this great country possible.

A fun, inspiring, thought-provoking read.
Format: Kindle
A witty, learned page-turner, replete with wacky anecdotes but suffused by wisdom and patriotic love. Metaxas shows how the biblical view of the human person made America possible, and weaves throughout the story pieces of evidence that Providence actively aided the pious patriots against their cynical, post-Christian enemies in Britain. I devoured this book in 72 hours, and now I want to go back and read it again.

Is America the Greatest Nation in the History of the World? Yes. And let Metaxas remind you.
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
EXCELLENT! Just the book I wanted to prepare for the 250th. Less textbook, more like a long chat with a friend. A great refresher on the important events of the birth of our nation and deep appreciation for some the men and women who don’t always get attention. It is so incredible how many events had to come together for our nation to come together as the GREATEST Nation in the History of the World!
