Concentrated soluble post-emergence herbicide, effective in combating broadleaf weeds which acts as a post-emergent contact herbicide. It is formulated as a soluble concentrate with 200 grams of its active ingredient diquat per liter. It is a contact herbicide and as such is a member of the quaternary ammonium herbicides, after the application of diquat, super oxides are generated by inhibition of the photosystem and electron diversion. This damages cell membranes and cytoplasm, which leads to cell rupture, emptying of contents and consequently desiccation.
To obtain an excellent frequency and optimal application time of this concentrated soluble post-emergence herbicide for corn, early applications are recommended, between 30 to 35 days after germination, for banana and African palm from vegetative growth to production.
