Discover the classic beauty and easy care of the Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen', a popular houseplant loved for its creamy white and green marbled foliage. Its long, lush vines will bring a touch of greenery to any space, whether hanging or cascading from a shelf. It's an excellent choice for beginners!

Characteristics

  • Foliage : The leaves of the Pothos 'Marble Queen' are heart-shaped and feature an attractive variegation of dark green and creamy white. The marbling pattern is unique to each leaf.
  • Bloom : Pothos rarely flowers indoors. It is mainly grown for its decorative foliage.
  • Light : The Pothos 'Marble Queen' thrives in bright, indirect light, but it can tolerate medium to low light conditions. However, insufficient light may cause the white variegation to revert. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Habit : Its habit is that of a trailing or climbing vine. It can be grown in hanging baskets, allowed to cascade from a shelf, or trained to climb.
  • Growth : It has a fast growth rate and can reach an impressive length indoors, up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) or more.
  • Humidity : It adapts well to normal household humidity levels, but it will appreciate higher humidity.
  • Soil : Use a well-draining potting mix. Pothos is not very particular about soil type.
  • Temperature : It prefers temperatures between 18°C and 29°C (65°F and 85°F). Protect it from cold temperatures.
  • Watering : Water when the top 2-5 cm (1-2 inches) of soil are dry to the touch. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. It is relatively drought-tolerant.

Uses

  • Types of Use : Excellent for hanging baskets, pots on shelves, desks, and windowsills. Its long vines make it a versatile choice for indoor decoration.
  • Decorative Advantages : Its bright variegated foliage adds a touch of colour and vibrancy to any space. It is also known for its air-purifying properties.

Care

  • Fertilization : Fertilize once a month in the spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer for houseplants.
  • Pruning : You can prune the vines to control their length and encourage bushier growth. Cuttings can be used for propagation.
  • Repotting : Repot in the spring every 1-2 years or when the roots become too crowded in the pot.
  • Propagation : Propagates very easily from stem cuttings in water or directly in soil. Ensure each cutting includes a node.

Amazing review but falls short in comprehensiveness
Format: Paperback
Felt lost while going into Ortho Sub-Is, but this book was a great quick review before going into them. It served well to give context to the field, but definitely not enough for a thorough review for sub-Is. If you are not in medical school, this book might be more apt for you. Overall, love the cartoon and definitely helped me some questions right on intense pimp sessions.

Med school orthopedics (basic orthopedics) presented in an easy to understand format.
Format: Paperback
This book is well written and easy to follow. I'm a fan of this publishers "Clinical Pathology Made Ridiculously Simple," and I found this book to be similar in presentation. This is a good book for Medical and PA students during their orthopedic didactic curriculum, and as a review before an orthopedic rotation, but it's a little too basic to be the only book you read during your orthopedic clerkship (for clerkship, I recommend also reading Case Files Orthopaedic Surgery). This is a good book to review orthopedic concepts for board exams. It's also a good book for primary care residents and primary care mid-level providers who want to brush up on ortho.

Multiple Myeloma
Format: Paperback
In the next edition please include a section on the dreaded bone cancer called multiple myeloma. Too many Orthopedic people, including physical therapists, often misdiagnose MM and blame it on arthritis.
