The Japanese Maple is native to Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and eastern Mongolia. Beni Hime is one of the smallest dwarf Japanese maples with red color. The name translates to “Red Dwarf”.

The leaves are green/ red in spring and summer, turning rich red and purple in fall. Deciduous, keep outdoors.

The leaves have a smooth texture giving this species the name Smooth Japanese Maple. 

Its leaves turn from red in the spring, to green in the summer, to a deep red and purple in the fall.
