If you have been used to conventional soil based mixes in the past don't be alarmed at the appearance of our Premium Bonsai Compost No3 - Superior Drainage Mix with Biochar. This product works wonders as witnessed by hundreds of our customers over the last 15-20 years.

A blend of carefully graded high performance coarse aggregates, hand graded pine bark and British Biochar chips offer unparalleled performance. Some species used for  bonsai have special needs when it comes to their growing medium. Our No3 mix offers a very high moisture holding potential but, at the same time, allows free air circulation vital to the health of tree roots. Neutral PH and a very high cation exchange capacity (nutrient retention). Biochar brings unparalleled bio activity to this unique mix. Keeps it's integrity indefinitely without compacting or breaking down!

It's possible that a third or more of the bonsai trees in the UK are planted in our soil products, we sell hundreds of tons a year. We don't sell hastily composed mixes that are untested. Please respect this effort and dedication and don't ask for the recipe.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL KAIZEN BONSAI SOIL MIXES ARE PREPARED TO ORDER. Despatch is normally next day. During periods of high demand (typically January to May) your order could be delayed for a short period of  a day or two. Please purchase in good time as we despatch orders in the sequence in which they are received in order to be fair to everyone.

Products appearance may vary from the picture depending upon the moisture content and material grades available at the time of production. The performance will be unchanged. All of our soil mixes incorporate some fines, this should NOT be sieved out, doing so will impair the performance of the product. During shipping some settlement and separation will occur. Before use please ensure the soil is consistently mixed throughout.

SOIL PRODUCTS ARE SOLD BY VOLUME. This is to ensure you get what you pay for, this soil product cannot be sold by weight as the moisture level can vary significantly from time to time. 1 litre is approximately equivalent to a 4" cube. Litres and kilograms are entirely different measures. 17L WILL NOT weigh 17Kg. Some compaction may occur in shipping.

Soil products cannot be delivered outside the UK.
