Balbisiana is a species with a round, bulbous base and flat, thin and light green leaves which come out from the center. With age, the leaves grow quite long and will cascade down the sides of the plant. Balbisiana produce beautiful deep red blooms. These are 9-12 inch beauties and are endemic throughout Central America, Northern South America and the Caribbean.
