This Hibiscus variety is commonly called Flower-Of-An-Hour; also known as Bladder Hibiscus, Bladder Ketmia, Bladder Weed, Modesty, Puarangi, Shoofly, and Venice Mallow, is an annual plant native to the Old World tropics and subtropics east of the Mediterranean. 

This tropical looking plant spread throughout southern Europe both as a weed and cultivated as a garden plant and makes an excellent addition to any garden! Especially great looking in a cottage gardens, border and even containers!

This seldom-seen, and easy-to-grow plant, produces stunning flowers with creamy white petals and purple coloured undersides contrasted with rich burgundy centers. And they only last a fraction of the day! Hence the reason Trionum blooms profusely all season long and produces a huge number of flowers over the entire plant. The seed pods are also attractive as they resemble little translucent anise flowerettes.
