How to Sow Poppy Seeds:
Best Way (Fall/Winter): In late fall loosen enriched garden soil down to a 6" depth. For zones 3-7 it's best to direct seed into your garden after your first freeze in the fall. For zones 8-9, or mild zones like California, you will get better results if you cold treat your seeds (see below) sow them during the winter.
These poppy seeds are very small so we use the shaker method where you mix your seeds with peat or sand to spread the seeds evenly in your sowing area. We then we top with a fine dusting of peat or sand as they need light to germinate. The poppies will germinate over winter and pop up in very early spring (see the last picture which a young fall sown poppy taken the following April in zone 7).
You can transplant winter sown poppies in the spring. We wait until they are about 3" in diameter and then transplant their root ball if we are expecting mild weather for a few days. Usually they will suffer a bit but will pull through. Be sure and thin or transplant to around 12".
Ok Way (Spring): If you are buying your seeds in late winter or early spring, first try a germination test with 4-5 of your seeds. Place them in a moist paper towel, and then place in a sealed baggie, and put in a window where the temp is at least 65 degrees. If they are ready they will germinate in 4-5 days by sending a fine root hair from the seed. If they germinate you can direct sow them after your last frost using the shaker method. If you are in zones 8-9 where you get a hot summer you need to sow your poppy seeds by March 15th.
If they don't germinate they will have to be cold treated. Place your packet of seeds into a mix of 1/4 cup fine peat (or a mix of peat and coarse sand) and 1 tablespoon of water. You want your mix moist but not soggy. Place the mix in a sealed baggie, inside a sealed container, inside your refrigerator (not your freezer) for 60 days. Check after 30 days to see if you need to add more water as you don't want the mix to dry out. What this does is trick the poppy seed into thinking it has gone through a full cold winter. After 60 days you can take your seeds out and let them dry overnight and then use the shaker method. You can plant the poppies in the late winter or spring, after the 60 day cold treatment, as long as your ground is workable and it's past your last frost date. As always we give them a light dusting with peat so as to disguise them from birds.
When poppies germinate in spring they send up a stalk that looks like a very fine blade of grass. This stalk grows to about 1"-2" before it grows it's first leaf set. Once your poppies are around 2" tall it's time to thin them out. Don't try to transplant as they won't make it. The risk on spring planted poppies is if they germinate and you get a crazy heat wave there is a chance they won't make it. The race in the spring is to try and get the poppy to establish it's root system before the summer heat arrives. A bit easier in zones 3-6 but a more difficult thing for zones 7-9.
Bad Way (Summer): Unless you live in southern California or Hawaii do not try to sow poppy seeds in the Summer. They will germinate but the heat will kill them before they can develop.
Worst Way: We do not recommend starting in pots as poppies disliked being transplanted, but if you want to try use a compostable 4" peat pot and do not remove the plant from the pot when transplanting in the spring. They will probably not mature correctly and have a small chance of flowering
During the summer dead head any spent flowers but at the end of the growing season you can let the flower head form into seed pods where you can collect seeds in late fall, but note that if you have multiple varieties of poppies in your garden they will cross pollinate and you will end up with some different colors.

Great Looking and Sturdy Monitor Arms
Color: White-Mount, Color: White-Mount
I'm so impressed with these arms. They're super strong and sturdy holding up my 27" monitor and 34" ultrawide monitor. Setting up for the most part is pretty simple and easy.
One of the best things I like about these arms is the cable management. I had several arms before for my setup at home and work, and the cable covers are usually pretty flimsy and just slide and lock in. I have a lot DP and HDMI cables due to my dual workstation, so these cable covers often end up popping out since its so full. These cable covers are different since they are screwed down tight with a bolt. All my cables fit pretty snug, but there is no bulging and I don't have to worry about the covers popping off ever again. I'd recommend keeping it at a maximum of 4 thicker cables though. However, fair warning that attaching the covers can be a pain so if you have to detach cables often, the screwed in covers can be a problem. If you have a set up like mine that won't really change often, it works well. If you can, I would suggest having 2 people set up the cable management. One to hold down the cover in place and the other to screw it in. I did it myself just fine though.
The range of motion is great for my needs, but please note that I tried stacking my monitors and it didn't quite work. I would say it's 1 to 2 inches shy of properly stacking them.
Overall, a great looking set of dual monitor arms. The extra ports on the base are a cool feature that do work, but I haven't had much use of it yet. Love that they had a white option to match my set up too. These are a little pricey, but they're really worth it!

Review of AVLT Dual 13"-35" Monitor Arm Desk Mount
I do not usually rate items, except for products that are exceptional or are provided by a vendor that is above all others.
I looked at this item several times, because the price was $100 less than my five year old dual arm could not raise the 38” monitor more that 8” from the desk surface and barely keep my wiring hidden.
Finally, the website for AVLT convinced me to place the order for the AVLT-DM41-1, Dual 13"-35" Monitor Arm Desk Mount. I was not disappointed.
The quality and finish of the aluminum mount is space age quality, the manual acceptable (ilea type); most important the I can raise my 38” monitor to a perfect ergonomic height.
My monitors are a Dell 38” U3818DW, (larger than 13” to 35” range) and a Dell 24” U2412M, U. for each I use the factory power cable, DP to DP display port 6 foot cables and high speed USB 3 cables for each monitor.
The assembly went without a hitch, no problem hiding the heavy cables that I use, my only problem was that my was not a C-clamp, attaching the hex bolts to the base from the underside of my desk was difficult; t would had been easier had they used a stud bolts to clamp the unit down.
The arm springs had no problem supporting my 38” monito, the unit is so sturdy I expect to receive years of service.
I strongly recommend this item because of value, quality and design. You will be hard pressed to find an equal or better product regardless of the price.

Great product
Color: White-Mount
Amazing product. It’s perfect. Tried a few other dual monitor arms and they sucked and didn’t hold up the monitors. This one is amazing and aesthetically pleasing. Well worth the money. All parts included. Large range of motion, you just have to loosen the screws to make it easier to move or tighten to keep everything still. Perfect size and provides all my amount of desk space back.

Smooth, immersive gameplay at 240Hz – Great curved monitor!
Style: FHD 240Hz, Size: 27-inch
This monitor exceeded my expectations. The 240Hz refresh rate makes a huge difference for gaming—everything feels incredibly smooth and responsive. The 1500R curved screen adds a real sense of immersion, especially in racing and FPS games.
Picture quality is great thanks to the VA panel. You get deep blacks, strong contrast, and wide viewing angles. The 1ms response time and Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync) keep things sharp with no screen tearing.
Build quality is solid, and the adjustable stand (height, tilt, and swivel) is a big plus. I also appreciate the VESA compatibility and the fact that it comes with an HDMI cable included.
If you’re a gamer looking for speed and immersion, this monitor is definitely worth it. The Full HD resolution is fine for gaming, but might not be ideal for serious productivity or photo editing.
Highly recommended for smooth, immersive gaming at a great value!
