As a low-elevation Colombian terrestrial, luxurians prefers warm and consistently humid conditions without the cool nights that benefit many Andean cloud forest anthuriums — maintaining 65-80°F year-round with stable rather than fluctuating temperatures suits it best. Provide moderate to bright indirect light; it grows on shaded rocky forest floors in nature and is more tolerant of lower light than many velvet species, though too little light slows an already slow grower further and reduces the glossy iridescence of the mature leaves. Allow the medium to approach dryness in the top inch or two between waterings — it is notably susceptible to root rot and benefits from a very open, free-draining mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent aeration. Humidity of 70-80% is essential for maintaining the glossy bullate surface and supporting healthy leaf emergence. Feed lightly with balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks.
