Episcia ‘Caterina’ is a showy, low-growing member of the African violet family. Its soft, velvety leaves are a rich bronze-green with a silvery sheen down the midrib, often accented by cool undertones that shift in the light. In bright conditions, it may also bloom with small, tubular red or coral flowers.

Perfect for hanging baskets, terrariums, or windowsills.

Light: Bright gentle light is ideal. Can tolerate moderate light but will lose vibrancy in low light.
Temperature: Prefers warm indoor temps (65–80°F). Avoid cold drafts and temps below 60°F.
Humidity: Loves high humidity (60–80%). A great candidate for terrariums or rooms with a humidifier.
Water: Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top ½ inch feels dry. Avoid wetting the leaves directly.
Potting mix: Loose, airy mix like African violet soil with added perlite or coco coir.
Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer with diluted African violet or houseplant fertilizer.

How to grow Episcia ‘Caterina’ indoors:
Give it bright, filtered light and steady humidity. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage. Water gently at the base and avoid splashing the leaves. Episcias do best in shallow pots or wide containers where they can spread and trail. Use distilled or filtered water to avoid mineral buildup—though if you're in San Francisco, Hetch Hetchy tap water is typically fine.

How to grow Episcia ‘Caterina’ outdoors in the Bay Area:
Only suitable outdoors in protected, frost-free, and humid microclimates. On shaded patios or in covered greenhouses, it can thrive in warm weather as long as temps stay above 60°F. Bring indoors before cooler nights. Ideal for warm porches, atriums, or shaded greenhouse benches in the summer.

Pet safe: Yes (non-toxic according to ASPCA guidelines)
Difficulty: Intermediate. Easy if you can provide warmth and humidity—thrives in the right conditions.

Soild

The orange and blue ball is perfect. Once start taken because the because the blue noisy one was a little to easy for my dog to start ripping pieces off. Will say most toys do not survive his chewing.

Aggressive chewer who loves fetch approved!!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
I highly recommend the Chuck-It brand in general, especially for dogs with an aggressive bite. These balls are awesome and are the most durable balls I’ve bought for my 50 lbs lab mix. He has not been able to break one of them yet and we’ve had a few of the squeaky balls for months. They are a bit pricey but worth it. The one in the pic has been used for months, lives outside and you can see it’s still in great shape.

Good quality dog ball for playing fetch
Size: Medium
My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.
