Common Name: Fortune Tree, Money Tree, Malabar Chestnut, French Peanut, Guiana Chestnut, Provision Tree, Saba Nut, Monguba, Pumpo, Jelinjoche

Scientific Name: Pachira aquatica (possibly the closely related Pachira glabra)

Pachira aquatica is a tropical wetland tree in the mallow family Malvaceae, native to Central and South America, where it grows in swamps.  In addition to being used in terrariums, it can also make for an excellent bonsai or house plant, with a large, sturdy trunk that tapers off into a wide canopy of elongated, lush leaves.

These particular specimens feature multiple trunks in the same pot, grown and braided together.

-Care Recommendations By The Dude-

Best for These Animals: Small to medium-sized reptiles and amphibians, including arboreal (tree-dwelling) species.

Bio Dude Substrates: TerraFlora, TerraFauna, TerraFirma

Soil Depth: Moderate to deep

Lighting: Bright, indirect light

Humidity & Misting: 40%-100%, can tolerate 20%-40%, but higher humidity is suggested for optimal growth.

Mature Plant Size & Root System: Can grow up to 6-8 feet indoors, with a spread of 2-3 feet, and can grow to a much larger size outdoors in its native habitat.  The root system can also become extensive, but is generally okay when contained in an enclosure. Pruning is suggested to keep the plant manageable in an enclosure.

Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Too high temperatures or low humidity may cause leaves to brown.  Best used as a back/wall planting; corner placement recommended.

Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: While not always classified as highly toxic, the money tree can cause mild gastrointestinal upset in some reptiles if consumed, however, reptiles and amphibians do not typically ingest them.

Pot Size & Packaging: A single 4" potted fortune tree w/ stump plant is shipped in the pot, wrapped in paper.

Lasted less than 5 min
While I get this is not a chew toy, it certainly is designed to encourage playing tug. I have 2 dogs, a lab and a lab/golden mix. They loved this toy and immediately started playing tug on either end of the rope, but when one of them switched to the tire and really dug in with his teeth, in less than 5 min, there were tire pieces all over the floor. It’s not like they would understand if I told them to only grab the rope and not the tire if they want their new toy to last. I really figured it would be more durable.

Fun for the whole family.
Style: Animal Sound, Size: Medium
I have a year old white wolf dog, 65 pounds, who is extremely energetic and will play all day if you can keep up with her. At first, she was somewhat afraid of the noises coming from ball inside so I just left it laying around and soon it was her favorite toy and she has not found any way to damage it! She is a tough player. The fun thing about it for her, and I think, for us, is that the animal noises will occur with vibrations with no direct contact - the first time this happened everyone was asleep and jumped up quickly when we heard these noises in the house - if she could have laughed, she would have. We leave it often on our big porch where she plays and she loves to set if off if anyone walks by. We live in the mountains so people walking by are few and far between, but she thoroughly enjoys setting it off and will often do so to amuse herself and chase it. She has had lots of toys and eaten many bones, but this, so far, is number one. It might even be a burglar deterrent with its scary sounds of different animals!

My Aussie loves this bone!
This wishbone is so durable! My Australian shepherd is a big cheese and this is her go-to chew toy. It's a fave! She has spent HOURS chewing on this bone and it has held up super well. It has no smell but understand she can taste the flavor of it. I love having something she can chew on that is safe for her that she enjoys. Great value.

Durable, Great Value Dog Bone!
We’ve ordered several of these that have lasted for months, and my dogs are still working on them. Months. That alone feels like a small miracle. Normally, chews last about 10 minutes. Not this one. This thing is built like it trained for battle. It keeps them busy, satisfied, and focused on something that is actually meant to be chewed. And the best part? It’s way more affordable in the long run. Instead of constantly buying new toys, chews, or replacing destroyed shoes, this one just keeps going. Definitely worth every penny and then some. If you have determined chewers, this is the chew/bone you’ve been looking for.

Dog loves this
My dog absolutely loves the shape of these and will play with it for hours. The material is pretty durable too, though he is a big lab so over time chewed away the top nubs. Eventually tossed it at that point, but got great use out of it before. No bad smell and my pet really enjoys playing with it. It’s not too big either and is really easy to take with you on trips, etc. have bought multiple!
