Lettuce Green Salad Bowl seeds produce light green rumpled leaves that grow rapidly. The heat-tolerant Green Salad Bowl is the best loose-leaf lettuce we know for roadside sales. It holds its flavor and fine texture despite the summer heat, and it stays in prime harvest condition for an extended time. The plant also grows well in cool weather, as it tolerates partial frost and shade, making it a great fall crop. Each plant makes a decorative rosette of wavy, notched leaves that are always tender, sweet, and delicious.
Green Salad Bowl lettuce seeds prefer full sun for quicker growth but are also able to grow in partial sun. They can be sown in pots indoors three or four weeks before outdoor planting takes place. The slow bolting plant is usually planted in spring but succession planting can be done through all seasons in areas with cool summers and warm winters. Heads of salad bowl lettuce are ready to harvest after 48 days. Not mosaic tested.

Beautiful, high-quality, easy to clean, pleasant to use, no glue on food-facing surfaces

I love these cutting boards! I've had them about 3 weeks, and use them multiple times per day. They are flat, rigid, lightweight, easy to handle, easy to clean, dry fast, and the range of sizes is great. Much better than the plastic cutting boards they replaced!
The top and bottom of each cutting board is a single piece of bamboo. On the larger boards, one or more darker bands across the board show the bamboo's natural joints, called nodes. The boards are gorgeous to look at, a pleasure to work on, and nice to touch. (I LOVE the rounded edges.)
Each board is a sandwich: top, core, bottom, with all joints on the edges of the board so no glued joint touches your food. The working surfaces smell only of bamboo. (If I sniff the edges where the glued joints are, I can faintly smell wood glue.)
The boards are finished with odorless food-grade mineral oil. After 2 weeks of daily use and detergent scrubs, I started to see a slight dulling of the finish. I refreshed them using the same butcher block oil (odorless food-grade mineral oil) I use on wooden cutting boards. I made sure the bamboo was thoroughly dry, wiped on a small amount of oil, and let them dry overnight in my vertical cutting board rack. This returned the finish to like-new condition.

Nice bamboo cutting board set.

So far have held up very well, and I feel better about not using plastic cutting boards. Good sizes, fairly easy to wash, but it’s a shame you can’t put them in the dishwasher. Overall a very good, sturdy product.

Fantastic boards, easy to wash, dry and oil. Don’t put in dishwasher as the wood may split. Hand wash and dry it right away and stand it on its side to dry.

Wooden Cutting Board

The purchase of a wooden cutting board was another selection in my quest to eliminate plastic from my environment when feasible. I had forgotten how great a wooden cutting board is to use. This one is solid, beautiful, and worked well with a sharp knife. It stayed firm on the counter, without sliding. The trough around the perimeter was effective in keeping any fluids from spilling onto the counter top. The size was perfect, allowing me to easily cut and contain the vegetables I was dealing with. Yet it was small enough to easily store and pull out for use. I followed the instructions for caring for the board, washing it with soapy water, drying it immediately, and wiping it with food safe oil. It’s been a solid purchase that will undoubtedly be a workhorse in my kitchen. The first use allowed me to toss my 3 cutting boards that I’ve been using for years and were worn. I’m anxious to see if it holds up with the daily use I’ll undoubtedly subject it to.
