 BOTANICAL SAMPLE

The Goji berry plant, also called Wolfberry is scientifically known as Lycium barbarum or Lycium chinense, is a deciduous shrub that is native to the regions of China, Mongolia, and Tibet. It is a member of the Solanaceae family, which includes other plants like tomatoes, potatoes, and bell peppers. Goji berry plants are well-known for their edible fruits, which are commonly referred to as Goji berries or wolfberries.

Goji berry plants typically grow to a height of 3 to 10 feet (1 to 3 meters). They have slender, woody stems with long, arching branches. The leaves are oblong and about 1-2 inches long, with a dark green color. In late spring or early summer, Goji berry plants produce small, trumpet-shaped flowers that are usually purple or lavender in color. These flowers are about half an inch to one inch long and form in clusters along the branches.

The Goji berries fruit themselves are the most well-known part of the plant. These small, red or orange berries are oblong in shape and about 1/2 to 1 inch in length. They have a slightly sweet and tangy flavor and are often dried for consumption. Goji berries are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and they are used in traditional Chinese medicine and various culinary dishes. Goji berries are renowned for their potential health benefits. They are often considered a superfood due to their high levels of antioxidants, vitamins (especially vitamin C), and essential minerals. Some people believe that Goji berries can support eye health, boost the immune system, and provide various other health advantages, although scientific evidence for these claims is mixed.

Growing conditions: Goji berry plants are hardy and adaptable. They can thrive in a variety of climates, from temperate to subtropical regions. They prefer well-drained soil and full sun but can tolerate partial shade. These plants are also drought-tolerant once established.  Goji berry plants can be grown from seeds or propagated through cuttings. They are relatively low-maintenance and can be pruned to maintain their shape. Regular pruning can also help improve berry production. Goji berry plants are generally resistant to most common pests and diseases. However, they may occasionally be susceptible to aphids, spider mites, or powdery mildew.

Overall, the Goji berry plant is a versatile and attractive shrub that not only provides nutritious fruits but also adds ornamental value to gardens and landscapes. It has gained popularity for its potential health benefits and is cultivated in various parts of the world.

GROWING TIPS

Growing Lycium chinense, also known as Chinese goji berry or wolfberry, can be a rewarding experience. Here's a general guide on how to grow them:

Choose the Right Location: Goji berries prefer full sunlight. Choose a spot in your garden that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Soil Preparation: Goji berries thrive in well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 8.0. They can tolerate various soil types, but sandy loam with good drainage is ideal. Prepare the soil by mixing in organic matter such as compost to improve fertility and drainage.

Plant goji berry bushes in early spring or late fall. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball of the plant and place the plant in the hole, ensuring that it is planted at the same depth as it was in the nursery container. Space plants about 4-6 feet apart to allow for adequate air circulation and future growth.

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during the plant's first year of growth. Once established, goji berries are somewhat drought tolerant but will still benefit from regular watering, especially during dry spells. Fertilize your goji berry plants with a balanced fertilizer in the spring before new growth begins. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for application rates.

Prune goji berry plants in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches, and trim the plant to maintain its desired shape. Pruning will also help promote airflow and reduce the risk of disease. Goji berry bushes can benefit from some support, especially as they grow taller and produce more fruit. Install a trellis or stake to support the branches and keep them off the ground. Goji berries typically begin producing fruit in their second or third year. Harvest the berries when they are fully ripe, which is usually in late summer to early fall. Simply pluck the berries from the plant by hand.

Pests and Diseases: Goji berries are relatively pest and disease resistant, but they can occasionally be affected by aphids, spider mites, or powdery mildew. Monitor your plants regularly and treat any pest or disease problems promptly.

By following these steps, you can successfully grow Lycium chinense and enjoy a bountiful harvest of nutritious goji berries

Just okay
Format: Kindle
This is the second book from this duo I’ve read. And I just can’t get into it. Like Cassie Cole books. Sasha Moon is new to me. This book has a decent storyline. Intrigue. Exotic places. Dangerous underworld. Tessa is plucked from her waitressing job to nanny for Damien. The billionaire art mogul and his 2 friends. They are deep into a new project that they call the Legacy Collection. She’s whisked around the world as she Nanny’s for the billionaire. My problem is that I just do not like Tessa. She’s quickly inserting herself into business she knows nothing about. Creeping around places she shouldn’t be and the billionaire and his security is okay about it. A slight talking to and that’s all. I like a strong female character, but she was often a brat. She just wasn’t likable to me. She was tolerable once they arrived in Greece, but I was too far gone at that point. Good level of spice. The scenes were hot. The guys were likable. Overall, I couldn’t wait to finish it but I found myself often putting off picking it up

Great Story!!
Format: Kindle
This was a great story however, it did seem a little short. Maybe a little rushed, but that could also be because I wanted a little more development of the characters as a family :). Also, I love how this story doesn’t seem like there are two different authors! Whew :). I love that!!! The only real criticism I have is that there are too many characters with names that start with the letter “T” and it makes reading the story a little confusing.

reverse harem with heart and a HEA
Format: Kindle
Author duo Sasha Moon and Cassie Cole delivered a well written reverse harem romance read in Billionaire's Nanny. Our female lead Tessa starts as a server at an event and meets a sweet lil girl Tabitha. Damian is Tabitha's father and after the event all he hears about it Tessa and so, in his billionaire style shows up unannounced to offer Tessa a job as Tabitha's nanny that she can't refuse. Damian may be the beginning but there is also Theo, head of security and Nico, chauffeur and chef. These three go everywhere together. I love how our authors introduce us to the art world, exotic places traveled. They weave together the heat and sweet so well and I love that there is a storyline with mystery, heart just as much as the heat the characters bring. A wonderful HEA is to be had as well! A really good read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So many plot twists and turns!
Format: Kindle
In Billionaire's Nanny, Tessa is a catering waitress. While working an event, she encounters Tabitha, a precocious 6 year old who is bored and seeking her own form of entertainment when left to entertain herself at her father's event. Taking the child under her wings and keeping her out of trouble, little does Tessa know that with that simple act, the trajectory of her life will forever be altered. Damian is Tabitha's father. He's wildly successful in the art world and a billionaire. Theo is his body guard and head of security, while Nico is his chauffeur (of any form of transportation that moves) and personal chef. The three travel everywhere together. Damian is out to right the wrongs of the previous generations of his family. He wants his daughter to be proud of her legacy and he will do anything to ensure that she has this opportunity, even if it requires lying, stealing and riding the fine line between what is morally and legally right and wrong. In order to do this, he desperately needs the help of someone he trusts to watch over his daughter. Tabitha won't stop talking about Tessa and the time they spent together at the event. Without notice, Damian shows up on Tessa's doorstep and orders her to join them as Tabitha's nanny. Needing the money to help care for her siblings, Tessa agrees. What ensues is a quest for Tessa to learn who to trust. There is an air of mystery continually surrounding the three men that leaves Tessa feeling uneasy. Secretive meetings and phone calls. Continually jet setting from country to country. Locked vaults and rooms depicted on doll houses as nothing more than empty spaces. Who are these men? Are they good guys or bad? Tessa struggles with her growing feelings as she finds herself equally attracted to them all. As each man spends more time with Tessa and finds himself intrigued by her, each wants her for himself. These are three alpha males all vying for pole position in Tessa's heart. Little do they know, Tessa isn't interested in having only one in pole position. For her, it's all or nothing. Will they be able to give up ultimate control and learn to share? Authors Sasha Moon and Cassie Cole have done it again! This is an extremely well developed novel. Normally I am quick to determine the plot and the direction it's taking. If there's a mystery in a plot, I've usually solved it by 25% of the way into the book. The plot of this book was hard to guess, which is actually what makes this book so fantastic! I love the twists and the turns; the hint at explanations without actually not explaining much of anything at all. LOL It kept me engrossed and wanting to know what the heck was going on. The authors did a fabulous job of slowly dispersing tidbits of plot weaving intrigue and mystery throughout the entire length of the book. This book kept me focused the entire time I was reading it. I love that Tessa is a strong female lead. She isn't afraid to back down or ask questions when things don't make sense. She also has a soft side that just wants to be loved and to feel affection. She is like a mollusk, hard on the outside yet soft on the inside and in her heart. As much as she would like to trust, she has learned that you cannot blindly trust. So she asked questions. She watches. She tries to determine if her employer Damian is truly an individual that is upstanding and one whom she can trust with her life and her heart. The three men in the story are harder for the reader to get to know, especially Damian's character. The author slowly feeds you information with regards to their personalities, but even with the air of mystery surrounding them, there's something likeable about each of them. I couldn't help rooting for them all to get their HEA. This book is an absolute definite must read!
