?? How to Grow Phlox Seeds

1. When to Start
- Best Time: Early spring or late fall.
- Zones 3–9: Sow after the last frost in spring, or 6–8 weeks before first fall frost.

?? 2. Seed Preparation
- Stratification (Optional but boosts germination):
- Place seeds in a damp paper towel, seal in a plastic bag.
- Refrigerate for 3–4 weeks before planting.

?? 3. Where to Plant
- Location: Choose a spot with full sun (at least 6 hours/day); tolerates partial shade.
- Soil: Well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic. Loam, sandy, or even rocky soils are fine.

?? 4. How to Sow
Outdoors:
- Loosen soil and remove weeds.
- Sprinkle seeds on surface — do not bury deeply (light aids germination).
- Lightly press seeds into soil.
- Water gently to moisten the soil.
Indoors:
- Fill seed trays with seed-starting mix.
- Sow seeds on top and press gently.
- Mist with water and cover with plastic dome/lid.
- Keep in a bright area (70°F / 21°C is ideal).
- Germination takes 2–3 weeks.

?? 5. Watering
- Keep soil moist but not soggy during germination.
- Once established, water moderately. It becomes drought-tolerant.

?? 6. Transplanting
- When seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, transplant outdoors 8–12 inches apart.

?? 7. Care Tips
- Mulch around plants to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
- Prune after blooming to keep tidy and encourage a second flush of flowers.
- No heavy feeding needed — light compost in spring is enough.

? 8. Bloom Time
- First-year bloom may be sparse; best displays from second year onward.
- Flowers appear in early to mid-spring, forming a thick carpet of blue-purple blooms.

Beautiful in a window seat
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White, Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
This is soft, pure white, and of decent quality for my purposes. I saw a photo of one used in a window seat so that's where mine is white 3 lumbar pillows on the sides and back of the seat. The size is perfect. It's a little bigger than my seat so I could use the tape to pin one side to each wall and also over the seat. I guess it all depends on what you are using it for to determine if you'll like it. I have a large sheepskin rug in another room. This one in my opinion is too skinny to be used as a rug. I haven't detected a smell at all.

It's real!
Size: 2' x 3' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Off white but totally happy. Even though it's wool, it doesn't itch and is very soft. The patches are few and not at all noticeable from front. Very thick and looks great!

Nice and fluffy, the color is a bit lighter
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Light Brown
Pretty and fluffy. Wishing the color were a bit darker so it matched my decor better. It’s hard to tell what color you’ll actually get 🫤 Not ideal but doable.

Beautiful rug but smelly when you first unpack it.
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.
