Aloe hybrid 'Safari Rose' PP28002, known as Safari Rose Aloe, is a compact succulent valued for its heat and drought tolerance. It features rose-pink flowers from summer to mid-winter, adding vibrancy to any landscape. This versatile plant is deer resistant and offers year-round interest. 'Safari Rose' Aloe forms an upright, spreading clump with succulent green leaves, soft teeth, and grey-red tips, reaching 12 to 18 inches in height and spreading up to 40 inches. Its big, showy spikes of light salmon-pink flower clusters bloom from summer through winter, attracting hummingbirds. Originating from Linbro Park, Republic of South Africa, it resulted from a breeding program by Andy de Wet in 1973, selected for vigor, flowering ability, and disease resistance. 'Safari Rose' Aloe prefers full to partial sun exposure and well-drained, sandy or rocky soil. It is drought tolerant once established but benefits from periodic watering during hot weather. Hardy to 20°F to 30°F, it can tolerate short durations of colder temperatures. This Aloe is suitable for borders, containers, ground covers, poolside planting, and rock gardens due to its low maintenance requirements and stunning appearance.
