I have a main trunk that divides into many branches that support a dense canopy. With enough humidity, I’ll sport aerial roots that hang from my branches. I’m comfortable grown as a houseplant, but also like nice days spent outdoors. Keep me in temperatures between 55-80 ̊F and away from heaters in the winter.

I can tolerate many light conditions, from shady to bright natural light. Just monitor the weight of my pot and water when it feels about 1/2 lighter. It is usually every 5-7 days. To water, submerge my pot up to the rim for 5-10 minutes and drain well.

Symbolism: After attaining enlightenment, Buddha was believed to have sat under a Banyan tree for seven days, absorbed in his new-found realization. Generally, the Banyan encourages stability and steadfastness in Feng Shui.
