'Birkin' is a self-heading philodendron (meaning it does not climb and is self-supporting). ‘Birkin’ thrives in medium to bright, indirect light, so near windows but not so close for direct rays. Such light will bring out the patterns that make ‘Birkin’ a standout houseplant. This is where sheer curtains are your friend, softening the impression of light that would otherwise be too strong. ‘Birkin’ won’t be its same festive, streaky self in low light. This philodendron is no water hog. Aim for slightly moist soil, allowing the top couple of inches to go dry or just about before watering again. Prefers average to above-average relative humidity. VERY sturdy and almost foolproof

This kit is made of real wooden planks, and metal pipes and fittings. Installation is simple- assemble each end of the kit, hold it up to the wall using a magnetic level, mark the four holes for each mounting piece, then repeat with the other side. You'll need a tape measure to make sure that the ends aren't too close together or too far apart, and measure from the ceiling or floor to ensure a level surface. You will want a second set of hands for most of the install process.
This kit comes with good molly bolts and strong screws that match the finish of the metal hardware. Make sure that each side of the unit is oriented the same way, as I had to flip one side after neglecting to do so at first. Retaining brackets and wood screws are included for securing each shelf to the metal frame. A power drill makes this part very easy, and can be done mostly solo as the brackets can be pinched to clip onto the frame while you attach the screws.
Once installed, this unit is VERY sturdy. There is no play or wobbling when testing the attachment to the wall. If there is, tighten your screws and make sure that the fittings to the wall mounts are hand-tight. These shelves can handle heavy kitchen staples and books with no problem. It is a tier more expensive than most Ikea-style shelving, but that's worth it for the confidence that my dry goods are safely stored in a convenient place.

Very Sturdy Industrial Shelves with a High-End Look

The combination of metal pipes and wood planks gives them a strong, rustic-industrial style that looks more expensive than expected. They feel solid and well-built, not flimsy at all.
Once mounted, the shelves feel very stable and can hold a good amount of weight, which makes them practical for books, decor, or kitchen items.
Overall, these shelves are both functional and visually impressive. They add a polished, high-end feel to the space and I am very happy with them.

Really sturdy. Beautiful addition in Kitchen

We put this up in our kitchen to hold our recipe books and other odds and ends. It is really beautiful and ties the space together nicely with the blank wall we had. It’s sturdy to hold several recipe books and a great price point for the quality. The only thing was that the second shelf did not line up from one pipe to the other. The top and bottom shelves aligned perfectly, so the pipes were leveled, but it seems that the pipes in the middle were not equal distance and the shelf wobbles. We’ll be putting something underneath one end to balance it out.
