Royal Neon Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade' (Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade')

Get ready to bring true tropical sunrise energy, warmth, and absolute botanical luxury to your collection – Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade'! This outstanding and highly prized hybrid among collectors is a true masterpiece of nature, literally enchanting with its captivating color transformation. Its greatest pride and fame lie in the flawless leaf coloration, which resembles sweet, sunny orange marmalade: each new leaf unfolds in a completely magical, vividly bright neon orange or yellowish tone. As the leaf matures, it transforms into a juicy green while retaining its unique, silvery yellow and marble-like variegation (variegation). Additional contrast to this fiery show is provided by bright, dark red or burgundy leaf stems, perfectly highlighting the elegant spear-shaped silhouette of each leaf. This variety naturally forms a very compact, dense, and self-supporting shrub, making it a perfect and eye-catching elite interior piece. Currently, it is a nicely grown, distinctly strong, large, and stable 20-25 cm plant in a generous 12 cm pot. It is an air-purifying houseplant that will add an elite-class, modern, and lively tropical accent to any interior. It is a prestigious, breathtaking gift for passionate collectors and those who want to see the brightest colors of nature in their homes!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s fiery glow: since the bright orange and yellow zones of the leaves contain little chlorophyll, the plant vitally needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy gentle morning or late evening sun rays) to maintain the expressive, contrasting marmalade pattern and prevent new leaves from simply unfolding green. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly and irreversibly burn its delicate leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

  • 💧 Watering: Moderate and very thoughtful. Philodendrons do not tolerate overly frequent watering and root soaking. Water only when the topsoil and the middle layer (upper third of the pot) have completely dried out between waterings! Since the plant is in a stable 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture a bit longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot. If in doubt – feel free to wait a few more days.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C), which, thanks to its thick leaves, adapts relatively well to normal indoor light. Of course, it will be very happy with moderate to high air humidity (above 50-60%), which will help the new, grand leaves open even more easily without cracking and protect the bright leaf edges from premature drying. It will appreciate a spot near a humidifier. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!

  • 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all philodendrons, 'Orange Marmalade' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place this gorgeous plant out of reach of your four-legged friends.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

  • Bright and warm spots by the window, shelves, or desks in morning/evening sun, where this stunning silhouette and fiery texture can fully stand out.

  • Modern, minimalist living rooms or home offices, where this elite-class plant will serve as the main interior design and conversation piece.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 20-25 cm (nicely grown, strong, and large plant with well-developed leaves)

  • Pot diameter: 12 cm (stable and generous volume)

⚠️ Note and reality check: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the exact intensity density of its neon color may vary slightly (some leaves may unfold fiery orange, others more yellowish or variegated, which is a natural and excitingly unpredictable trait of variegated plants). Since this is already a nicely grown plant with a strong root system, it will develop at a pleasant, stable pace. Although it is a shrubby philodendron, in the future, when the plant becomes larger and heavier, it will greatly appreciate a decorative moss or coconut fiber support to prop up its stem. When repotting in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine orchid bark) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.

A well-rhymed book of poems
Format: Paperback
Thomas Hardy is a superb poet, a master rhymer, one of the main features of his poetry. These poems here are well-written and a delight to read. It is quite amazing to think why his poetry was so ignored and for the most part did not get much attention in his lifetime after one finishes reading the book. It tells more about the ignorance of man than Hardy as a poet that in some ways is getting the praise that he so much deserves, finally. Numerous are the poems that show mastery of diction and subject matter. They are carefully crafted to make them a jewel of poetry. Read them for what they bring which is magnificent poetry seen in their lines.

A Great Novelist's Wonderfully Liberating Indulgences with Poetry
Format: Paperback
While a prolific novelist, Thomas Hardy is a first-rate poet whose verse seems to get lost between attempts at poet canonization among those between late-Victorianism and early Modernism. Perhaps this narrow way of looking at the history of poetry is why Hardy's legacy as a poet is often overlooked. He doesn't neatly fit in with categories like realism, symbolism, naturalism, aestheticism, modernism, etc., because he grapples with both major and minor themes addressed and techniques used by the big names of the numerous movements that were ending, beginning, or in their prime state at the turn of the century. It's very interesting how his poems shine a light on his expertly crafted novels (especially the more provincial narratives), but I get the impression that Hardy viewed his identity as prose and verse stylist as separate personal facets. Such a self-evaluation is almost unfair to him. While undoubtedly what we might call a formalist novelist in the vein of Flaubert--one with intense philosophical interests like Austen (and Dostoevsky for a non-English example)--the formalism and philosophical bend certainly appears in his poetry, and Hardy almost seems like a freer artist when you read his verse works. This great collection proves to be curiously wonderful and will appeal to poetry lovers, Hardy enthusiasts, students and scholars of the many different art movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and those of readers with a deeply philosophical approach to reading. That said, he's wonderfully and surprisingly accessible to laypeople as well, though always provides a great challenge to his readers without pretension or esoteric persuasions (if that's a factor that you might find frustrating in poetry).

Beautiful
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Beautiful book—arrived in great shape! And I absolutely adore Hardy’s poetry. Not sure why I can never find him on the poetry shelves of my bookstores, because he’s one of the greats. So far my favorite is “Her Death and After”. Sounds morose, but it’s actually quite beautiful. It will touch your heart—just what Thomas Hardy had a knack for. If you like classic poetry, please get this book. It’s great!
