Native to South Africa, the defining feature of Stapelia leendertziae cristata is its crested growth form, where stems fuse into wavy, fan-like ridges instead of growing upright. The fleshy stems are ribbed, gray-green to bluish-green, and covered with small, soft teeth along the edges.
