Sagina Subulata (Irish Moss) is a low-growing, evergreen perennial plant that belongs to the Caryophyllaceae family. Despite its name, Irish Moss is not a true moss but rather a flowering plant that forms a dense, moss-like ground cover. It is native to parts of Europe and North America.

Irish Moss is favored for its delicate and lush appearance, which resembles a carpet of tiny green leaves. The leaves are small, narrow, and densely packed, creating a dense mat of foliage. This ground cover plant typically grows to a height of only a few inches (around 2-4 inches or 5-10 cm) with a spreading habit.

The plant produces tiny, star-shaped white flowers that bloom in spring or early summer. These flowers are relatively inconspicuous and are usually overshadowed by the dense foliage. Irish Moss is primarily grown for its attractive ground-hugging foliage rather than its flowers.

Irish Moss is commonly used as a ground cover in gardens, rockeries, and between stepping stones or pavers. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade or full sun in cooler climates. In hotter regions, it may require some shade to protect it from excessive heat.

When it comes to propagation, Irish Moss can be grown from seeds or by dividing established plants. The seeds of Irish Moss are very tiny, and a pack of 5,000 raw seeds would provide a substantial quantity for sowing. It's important to note that growing plants from seeds requires patience and careful attention to their specific germination requirements, including temperature and moisture conditions.

Once established, Irish Moss requires minimal maintenance. It benefits from occasional watering during dry periods, especially in hotter climates. Regular light trimming or mowing can help maintain a neat appearance and encourage dense growth.

Overall, Irish Moss is prized for its lush green carpet-like foliage and its ability to create a soft and attractive ground cover. It can add a charming touch to various garden settings and is a popular choice for those seeking a low-maintenance and visually appealing ground cover option.

Logical and easy to read
Format: Paperback
St. Pope John Paul II may have been a polymath, but his approach to explaining the metaphysical relationship of man and the human condition as it relates to theology and our relationship with God make this a great read!

Food for thought (and life) for ages to come
Format: Paperback
Blessed John Paul II shared with the whole world the fruit of years of lived life and deep reflection, prior to being elected Bishop of Rome. Anyone who wishes to delve into this work is in for a hard-earned yet worthy treat, as it is not always an easy read, but deeply satisfying. John Paul II's understudy and friend, Stanislaw Grygiel, once challenged the pope saying that few would actually understand what he taught. The Pope replied, "Some things just have to be said!" Thanks to Prof. Michael Waldstein, we have an excellent introduction and much-improved translation of this monumental work. As I said in the title, there is the pope's catecheses on the theology of the body much food for thought (and life...and love!) for ages to come. Blessed John Paul II, thank you and pray for us!

Good to use every night...I do.
If you suffer from dry mouth during the night, these are the perfect solution. I had tried rinses - they don't last. Sprays - they don't last. lozenges - don't last. Other tablets, only last a few hours. I can get about 8 hours relief with these. Contrary to other reviews, you do not suck on them like a lozenge...they won't last at all if you do it that way. Read the directions. They "adhere" to your back molars...don't drink or eat after putting them in...as both will either dislodge or reduce the effectiveness. However, when I don't use these, my mouth is miserable and so dry. These provide enough moisture throughout the night. The flavors aren't too bad. I've used the mint (not may favorite because I'm not a fan of mint flavor), orange and berry. I wish they had other flavors (cinnamon, licorice), but till then, I'll use these probably forever.
