Cereus repandus, commonly known as Peruvian apple cactus or queen of the night, is a species of cactus native to South America, particularly found in the Andes region. Here are some key features and information about Cereus repandus:

Appearance: It is a large, columnar cactus that can reach heights of up to 10 meters (33 feet) tall. The trunk is ribbed and green, with prominent vertical ridges. Its branches are often multiple and sprawling, with each stem having several ribs.

Flowers: Cereus repandus produces large, showy, white flowers that bloom at night. These flowers are often fragrant and attract pollinators such as bats and moths. The flowers typically bloom for one night only.

Fruit: After flowering, the plant produces large, reddish-orange, oval-shaped fruits that resemble apples in appearance and are edible. The fruits are often called "Peruvian apples" or "apple cactus fruits." They have a sweet taste and are commonly used in juices, jams, and desserts in South America.

Habitat: This cactus species is well-adapted to arid and semi-arid environments, often found in rocky slopes, dry forests, and desert regions. It can tolerate a wide range of temperatures and soil conditions but requires good drainage.

Cultural Significance: Cereus repandus has cultural significance in South America, where it has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples for food, medicine, and as a water source. The fruits are an important part of local cuisine, and various parts of the plant are used in traditional medicine for treating ailments such as inflammation and gastrointestinal issues.

Cultivation: In cultivation, Cereus repandus is popular as an ornamental plant in gardens and landscapes in regions with a similar climate to its native habitat. It is relatively easy to grow and can tolerate drought once established. However, it requires protection from frost and excessive moisture, particularly during the colder months.

Fun Durable and My Dog Loves Them
Size: 3.5in Large
I bought these glow squeaky balls for my dog and they have been a huge hit. The size is perfect for medium to large dogs and the material feels sturdy enough to handle plenty of playtime. My dog usually destroys toys within a few days but these have held up really well and still squeak loudly which keeps him interested. The glow feature is surprisingly useful. We play fetch in the evenings and being able to spot the ball in the grass makes it so much easier. It also adds a fun element to nighttime play. The squeak is loud but not annoying and it really grabs my dog’s attention. Having four in a pack is a great value. I can keep one inside the house one outside and still have extras ready. The texture is also easy to clean which is important because they definitely get muddy after outdoor play. Pros: durable material fun squeak glows in the dark easy to clean and great value for the price. Cons: my dog loves them so much that he insists on carrying one everywhere. Overall this is an excellent set of dog toys. They are durable fun and practical. I would recommend them to anyone who has an active dog that loves to fetch and squeak.

Awesome but a tiny bit small
Size: 2.5in Medium
They’re a little smaller than my chuck it stick, but still works well. They hold a glow-charge well, my dog loves them and the squeaker

Little glow that does not last
Size: 2.5in Medium, Size: 2.5in Medium
Total waste of money. These sat all day in Texas sun then were under a 60 watt lamp until I took them outside at night. There was barely any glow to the balls and the littl glow they had didn't last 10 minutes. I thought they were same size as a chuck it ball but they are slightly smaller. The 3x5 card in photo should sit evenly on top of all 3 balls. It doesn't because these are smaller. I have a 70 pound Malinois and these were just too small for me to feel comfortable using as I had concerns of them going down his throat. If you are looking for a fun night time toy you need to look elsewhere. I'd give zero stars if I could.

MY DOGS' NEW FAVORITE BALLS!
Size: 3.5in Large
They are the greatest! Awesome squeaking, lightweight, bouncy, durable, fast and bright light have made my dogs have hours of fun and exercise. I'm hoping more get back in stock since I've acquired another dog who loves them. They have all the fun properties of a favorite toy! UPDATE... After the second purchase of these balls, they have now replaced the old "Chuckit" balls as my dogs' choice but they fit perfectly in the XL Chuckit handheld launcher! I hold the ball in the launcher up next to my outdoor back light for a few seconds and hurl it away multiple times and they really run for them like there is no tomorrow. Day or night these balls stimulate my dogs' enthusiasm for running and it is a joy to play with them and watch how much fun they have.
