Mit ihren dunkelgrünen, wachsartigen Blättern und leuchtend bunten Blüten ist die Flamingoblume ein echter Hingucker in Ihrem Zuhause. Ihre langlebigen Blüten blühen fast das ganze Jahr über, und unter den richtigen Bedingungen wird diese tropische Blume Ihr Zimmer viele Jahre lang erhellen. In ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum sind diese Pflanzen epiphytisch (sie wachsen auf Bäumen), daher müssen sie gut entwässert sein und dürfen an der Wurzel nicht unter Wasser stehen, während sie im Allgemeinen eine feuchte Umgebung genießen.

Licht
 Mag einen hellen Standort mit einer Stunde Morgen- oder Abendsonne; eine nach Norden, Nordwesten oder Nordosten ausgerichtete Fensterbank ist ideal.

Wasser
Lassen Sie im Frühjahr und Sommer ein Drittel der Erde zwischen den Wassergaben antrocknen, im Herbst und Winter etwas mehr. Da Flamingoblumen epiphytisch wachsen, vertragen sie keine Staunässe!

Feuchtigkeit
Liebt hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit; regelmäßiges Besprühen ist von Vorteil, insbesondere wenn die Pflanze viel Licht bekommt.

Boden
