Which plants is Foliage Focus for?

Take your plant's nutrition to the next level with GT.
Formulated for indoor plants where foliage is your focus, including Aroids, such as Monstera, Pothos, Philodendron, Ficus, Epipremnum, Peperomia, Syngonium, Sansevieria, Hoyas, ZZ, Ferns and more.

Why is Foliage Focus different?

Foliage Focus is made by Growth Technology, known in the industry as GT. The clever crew behind world-famous Clonex. GT takes a different approach to plant nutrition, providing crop-specific nutrition giving plants everything they need and nothing they don't. The result is an all-in-one fertiliser that's gentle enough to use every time you water, even for salt-sensitive plants, variegated plants and plants prone to fertiliser-burn.

Includes calcium

Most fertilisers lack calcium yet calcium is essential for plants. A deficiency can cause bud-blast (where buds form but fail to flower), split, cracked leaves, leaves that cup or curl, or new growth that browns prematurely. Calcium isn't a mobile nutrient. If there’s a deficiency when new growth forms, the damage is done. That new growth may never reach its potential. Your plant need a regular supply. Foliage Focus includes calcium and is gentle enough to use every time you water.

Save your plants from fertiliser burn

GT is guaranteed free of urea, sodium and chlorides, making it safe even for variegated plants, salt-sensitive plants and slow growers, all more prone to fertiliser burn. Outdoors, excess mineral salts can leach away from the roots. Indoors, our plants can't escape. GT uses urea-free nitrogen, chloride-free potassium and guarantees no added sodium to reduce the risk of fertiliser burn.

Truly complete...

Check the label. Most fertilisers list NPK only. Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Far from all the nutrients plants need, yet enough to claim to be 'complete'. GT is different. Not just 3, but all 12 essential nutrients. Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur, iron, manganese, boron, zinc, copper and molybdenum. Guaranteed no cobalt or nickel (sssential for a handful of outdoor crops, but phytotoxins for indoor plants).

...and balanced

GT is both complete and balanced, with the 12 essential minerals in the right ratio for strong, lush leaf growth without leaving behind excess minerals to build-up or go to waste.

pH buffered

Soil pH matters. Too acidic or too alkaline and some nutrients become toxic while others like calcium and phosphorus become unavailable. Foliage Focus is pH buffered to 6 once diluted, slightly acidic, right where tropical-loving indoor plants prefer, and where nutrients become ideally available, helping avoid both deficiencies and toxic levels.

Chelated minerals

Pronounced 'key-lay-ted' (think of a key unlocking a door). Chelating minerals 'unlocks' the 5 essential metal nutrients: iron, manganese, magnesium, zinc and copper. Metal nutrients can react in the soil, turning them into solids plants can't use. Chelation adds organic molecules to protect precious metals, keeping them water-soluble and available to your plants. All metal nutrients in Foliage Focus are chelated.

How often should Foliage Focus be given to plants?

Little and often. To avoid irreversible deficiencies in immobile nutrients (such as essential calcium), it's recommended to feed GT every time you water, also called the 'Weekly Weakly Method'

Directions for use

One 5 litre bottle of Foliage Focus makes over 1,660 litres based on the light dose below.

How much Foliage Focus do plants need?

Choose your dose to match your plant's needs...

🪴General maintenance: Use GT at the general maintenance dose of 3mls per 1 litre of water.

🪴 Fast growers / heavy feeders: Use GT at 5mls (1 teaspoon) per 1 litre water.

💧 Hydro and semi-hydro (such as leca and pon): From 5 to 7mls per 1 litre water according to growth requirements.

To avoid irreversible deficiencies in immobile nutrients (such as calcium), it's recommended to fertilise with GT Focus every time you water.

How much does GT Foliage Focus cost to feed?

GT Foliage Focus costs from 4.5 cents per litre depending on the size you buy.

Cost per litre for GT Foliage Focus as little as 4.5 cents

At the general maintenance rate, the 250ml size of GT Foliage Focus makes 83 litres at a cost of 18 cents per litre. The 1 litre makes 33 litres at a cost of 7.5 cents per litre, and the 5 litre (this size) makes 1,666 litres at a cost of 4.5 cents per litre.

*Please note costs may vary depending on retail price at the time of buying. Calculations are correct based on the recommended retail as of 1 Nov 2024.

GREAT for small dogs!
Size: 6 inches - Plush Gumby
My Pekingese, Yuki, has tiny and shallow jaws. So, it’s tough to find toys she can hold, let alone squeak. But “Gumby” was a surprise, and a fast favorite. The fur is pleasantly smooth, vs. dense. It seems to help. The front/back are somewhat flattened. That seems to help, too. The squeaker is strategically placed…. Thus, she can easily mouth the neck/head area, regardless of the arm placement to easily squeak away…. And what fun to twirl. I’ll grab an arm, and spin her in circles. It’s wonderfully stitched. Nary a worry about an arm coming off. A truly quality toy…. Purchase for your wee one with confidence!

After a good scrub, the dogs love them!
Size: 9 inches - Latex Gumby, Size: 9 inches - Latex Gumby
These gumby toys are flexible rubber, and exactly what you'd expect for the price. I ordered three to replace two that had been gifts well loved by my dogs. I read reviews mentioning smell, but wasn't really prepared for it when the package arrived. They all arrived zip tied to a paperboard backing. They all smelled like a fine fragrance designed for robots - like burning motor oil with floral undertones - and the zip ties were stained a sickly green wherever they touched Gumby. Initially, my dogs wanted nothing to do with them, even after a good scrub. I left them to air out in the shed for a few days and then ran them through the dishwasher (without cleanser!) and they were good to go. My dogs love these toys. I know they're not going to last long! I know the arms will get yanked or chewed off first, and then the corner of Gumby's head will go missing. Eventually, his head will be ripped into tiny pieces and strewn about my living room. I know that, sooner or later (and probably sooner!), Gumby will be little more than a torso with weird square legs. And that's okay, because that means my dogs enjoyed the toy. People complaining about a $7 flexible rubber toy not being appropriate for heavy chewers don't understand what dogs need, or what dog toys are for. Part of the satisfaction that chewing brings for dogs is also shredding. Dogs destroy stuff. Some more than others. It's what they do. No toy will last forever if it's used! But I have five dogs, including bully breeds and a Saint Bernard, plus two occasional visitors, and these toys have lasted longer than expected (even if their arms are off in minutes!) The dogs in the pictures are 90 and 120 pounds, modeling both a well loved older Gumby and a brand new one.

Perfect for my terrier, he loves it.
Size: 6 inches - Plush Pokey
Has to be one of my pups favorite toys. He loves having it thrown for him. It is small enough that my toddler can play with the dog. Very durable, it gets played with every day for hours at a time.

It won't last if your dog chews.
Size: 9 inches - Plush Gumby, Size: 9 inches - Plush Gumby
My dog loves these things BUT: The first one lasted 2 days. The stitching along the leg looked a little loose before I gave it to our dog. So I watched her very closely. She went up to see my roommate with it and thank goodness he was watching closely as well because it was then that she ripped the entire thing open and the squeaking ball came out. The problem with the ball is that it is so small- it would be easy for a dog to choke on. I do have to give the seller some credit because they sent another one when I explained that the stiches were loose. I did not have to mail the first one back. The second picture is the second one that they sent. It lasted less than 10 minutes. I DO NOT recommend getting it replaced after you have a "failure"(especially if you don't know how to sew)!!! Why? Because when the second one was in my dog's grasp she had already figured out that the seems were... her target for destruction... She held the legs with her front paws, grabbed the head with her mouth and just started pulling like crazy until- yes. A seem opened again. What started as a small opening in the seem quickly turned into a bigger one. This probably sounds crazy, but we have very smart dog... She was seriously concentrating on the same seem- biting the same area and pulling with her head over and over until the hole became big enough to get stuffing through it. It may be a mistake- we will find out... But I am thinking about sewing the second one back together and reinforce every seem with a "second" seem using some very strong thread. I figure I would rather waste 20 cents or so on the thread to try to fix it, then buy another dog toy from this "brand". When I do this I will also pull ALL of the stuffing out so if it does rip open again, she won't be able to eat any of it. The stuffing looks synthetic and it is low quality- I don't trust it as far as toxicity... All this being said= if there were two layers of fabric with the inside layer being a stronger material, it would make the seems harder to pull apart. The way it is now you have this weak (albeit soft) fabric so when they sew it together the tiny holes left by the needle make the fabric in the seem area easier to tear. This, along with the thread itself being weak and easy to "snap", means that you should only expect it to last more than a day if your dog does not chew anything at all that is not food. 5 starts for the seller though...
