These appear as the plant develops. The leaf holes eventually become open, progressing toward the edges as leaves mature, explaining one of the plant’s common names: split-leaf philodendron. Monstera deliciosa is an excellent focal specimen in any room and can be trained to climb or trail over a bookshelf or windowsill. It can grow up to 10 feet tall indoors, adding a lush, tropical feel to any space, putting on 1-2 feet a year.

Tighten the compression nut

When my husband got home from work, I asked if he could put some kind of glue in it. Two minutes later, he had it fixed. He says this is a compression nut that you tighten with your fingers (a wrench would probably break it) on to the metal ends of the brush. The look on his face said what he didn't dare say out loud. My cats won't use this or go anywhere near it. I am considering taking the brush part off the base and trying to attach it to some furniture they constantly rub against. The arch has to be assembled, which was super easy. The brush is sturdy and the base holds it well. I am keeping it in hopes of finding some way to teach my cats how great it could feel. Hi, all, I bought this item back in 2023. The idea is great, as we all know cats love to rub against scratchy things. The first thing that I’ve noticed is that the bristles were too soft. The devil is in the details, as they say and the execution of this piece needs to be addressed. My cats broke it in 1 day; the base of the wire was torn out of platform. I should have returned it right away, but I thought that I can fix it by glueing back together. Two years and multiple attempts after, it is nonfunctional. In its current disposable state, the price should be around 6-7 $. Connection of wire to the base needs to be reinforced by the manufacturer to make a good product!
