Organic Open-Pollinated Non-GMO Laxton's Progress #9 Pea Seeds

A beloved dwarf shelling pea that requires no staking, this heirloom variety traces its roots back to 19th-century English plant breeder Thomas Laxton. Bred to be wilt-resistant and sweeter than other peas of its time, this old-time favorite continues to impress with its plump, dark green pods—each holding up to 9 large, tender peas.

We especially love them fresh off the vine in the morning sun—a garden breakfast tradition passed down from childhood days spent in our grandparents’ garden. These sweet, high-quality peas are a delight tossed into salads, lightly steamed, or stirred in at the end of a fried rice or stir-fry for a burst of garden-fresh flavor.

Harvest early and often, and blanch and freeze your extras to keep a taste of early summer in your icebox all year long.

Gardener Tips

Keep seeds moist while germinating. Do not transplant. Inoculate, if needed, before planting. Thrives in cool, moist weather. Use post or trellis for support. Mulch at base.

Harvesting Tips

Harvest pods are bright green, plump, and you can feel the round peas inside, but before they become too large and starchy.

Harvest often, as soon as pods fill out, this encourages the plant to continue producing.

For peak sweetness and texture, pick in the morning after the dew dries but before the heat of the day.

Smaller than expected
Format: Hardcover
For a book this costly, I expected it to be thicker than volume. That said, there are some great ideas in here and I will probably edit this review when I have finished reading!

Excellent treatment manual
Format: Hardcover
State of the art manual on a solution-focused form of multi-couple couples therapy for intimate partner violence. Excellent presentation of the rationale and the underlying theory behind the approach. I particularly like the presentation of the first six sessions. However, I did not endorse this with 5 stars because I believe that the solution-focused approach does not go far enough for some couples and that they need some more structured interventions for managing conflict, such as those presented in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

This was not the book I needed for my office ...
Format: Hardcover
This was not the book I needed for my office. The interventions or most of them required two therapists. Thank you.

A Great Way to Expose Yourself to Malpractice Lawsuits
Format: Hardcover
What the authors fails to say is that doing couples work where domestic violence is active is illegal in some cases and against standards of practice in most others. Not only might a clinician be increasing a client to dangerous relationship situations by conducting couples work where IPV is present, they are increasing their exposure to litigation. Let's not forget, this is the same APA who turned a blind eye to torture in the "war on terrorism."
