Aglaonema 'Ruby Ray' is a striking and elegant houseplant, highly prized for its intense red and green foliage. With its compact shape and vibrant colors, it brings a warm, tropical touch to modern interiors while remaining easy to care for.
Origin: Horticultural hybrid of the genus Aglaonema , derived from species native to the humid tropical forests of Southeast Asia.
Growth: Moderate growth. It forms a clump of thick, oval leaves, deep green with bright red to coral pink margins and veins. Indoors, it typically reaches 40 to 60 cm in height.
Flowers: Flowering is rare indoors. It may produce small, whitish, spadice-like inflorescences, inconspicuous compared to its colorful foliage.
Light: Prefers bright but indirect light. Too much shade dulls the red coloration, while direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. Consistent filtered light promotes a vibrant and even hue.
Watering: Water regularly but moderately. The substrate should remain slightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering when the plant enters dormancy or during periods of slow growth.
