Chantenay Royal Carrot Seeds from Survival Garden Seeds produce sturdy, dependable roots that perform well even in heavy or clay soils. This classic heirloom variety forms plump, tapered carrots about 4–5 inches long and 2 inches wide, with an orange-red core and rich, sweet flavor. Known for its versatility and long storage life, Chantenay Royal is a smart choice for home growers, survival gardens, and anyone who values reliable, nutrient-dense harvests.

Durable, Flavorful, and Built for Storage:

  • Excellent for long-term storage in root cellars, remaining firm and flavorful for months.
  • Rich in beta carotene (Vitamin A) and fiber, making it a nutritious option for juicing and everyday cooking.
  • Grows well in challenging soils where longer varieties may struggle, maintaining uniform size and shape.
  • Produces tender roots that thrive in cool weather, offering dependable yields throughout the season.

Why Customers Love Chantenay Royal Carrot Seeds:

  • Performs reliably in heavy or clay soils
  • Easy to grow and well-suited for beginners and experienced gardeners
  • Delicious, nutrient-rich carrots with a sweet, earthy flavor
  • Ideal for juicing, roasting, stews, and food storage
  • Compact shape works well in raised beds and smaller garden spaces

How to Grow:
Sow Chantenay Royal carrot seeds directly into well-prepared soil once danger of frost has passed. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in rows or blocks, and keep soil consistently moist to support even germination. Thin seedlings early to allow room for the stocky roots to develop their full shape. This variety thrives in full sun and benefits from regular watering, especially during root formation. For extended harvests, plant successive rounds every two to three weeks.

Harvest & Use:
Harvest when roots reach their characteristic plump, tapered shape. Loosen soil gently to avoid breakage. Enjoy fresh or store in a cool, humid environment for long-term use. Chantenay Royal’s dense, sweet flesh makes it ideal for juicing, roasting, soups, and winter storage.

Great practice for the summer
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I bought this book to use with my son the summer between kindergarten and 1st grade. I love that it has a variety of topics it covers including spelling, sight words, reading comprehension, and a mix of math skills. My son loves the colorful pages and variety of activities. He also loves that there are stickers included for when he completes each page. Would absolutely recommend this, especially for reluctant/high energy learners.

The perfect summer romance in a beautiful setting!
Format: Kindle
I give this book 4.75 stars rounded up to five for the purposes of this review. I really liked this story and flew through! Anyone looking for a great summer romance can find it here. This was my first Carley Fortune book, but I’d like to read more (and plan to read the sequel to this one very soon). It was so fun to experience Percy and Sam’s relationship as it developed from close friends at the age of thirteen to something much more as they got older. Their relationship was so deep and respectful. They knew everything about each other and shared so many wonderful experiences together. It felt like a very natural evolution from friendship to romance (although I did want to smack Sam a couple times, but he was young, so I’ll give him a pass). And the setting of Barry’s Bay was a beautiful, relaxing place. I wish I could live in a cabin on that lake! There were some great side characters in this book too. Sue was such a kind, loving person. Charlie was sometimes difficult to like, but he really wasn’t a bad person. Delilah definitely annoyed me at times, but she turned out to be such a good friend to Percy. I wish we’d gotten a little bit more of Chantal, because she also seemed like an amazing friend. I don’t always like a miscommunication trope in terms of breakups in romances, but this one actually made sense, because Percy and Sam were so young and trying to figure themselves out, as well as their romantic relationship. So, that part of it didn’t turn me off the overall story. I loved the ending (it made me cry), although I wish Sue’s storyline could have been different. In my opinion, this was the perfect summer romance, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I would definitely encourage you to read it!
