The Greenlife Salad Grower with Lamp has been developed to work based on the Kratky method which is a passive or static hydroponic technique for growing plants above a tank or reservoir of nutrient rich water. No additional inputs of water are needed after the original application due to its non-circulating style. No pumps or water/oxygen circulation systems are required.

Seeds, seedlings or plants are grown in nutrient rich growing solution (nutrients sold separately). You can use a number of soil mediums including soil, coconut coir and premium potting mix.

The Salad Grower with Twin LED Lamp system is productive due to the twin LED Lamps which are designed to sit directly your plants for optimal growth. The unique LED grow light technology provides the plants with enough light to grow whilst consuming minimal electricity. The lighting system’s full spectrum white light, replicating natural sunlight, is perfect for promoting plant growth and leaf development.

The system can provide home harvested food within a month of set-up. All you need to add is nutrient-rich water, soil or potting mix and seeds or seedlings and then watch it grow!

Results may vary due to changing of seasons, light/UV requirements or ambient temperatures so speak to your local garden centre or nursery for the best results.

Growing Tips

  • Plant up the growing baskets using soil, potting mix, rockwool, grow rock, coco fibre/coir, perlite, or other hydroponic growing mediums
  • Plant your seeds in the soil or growing medium. If you have small seedlings they can be directly planted into the growing baskets and topped up with soil or growing medium
  • Fill the Salad Grower with water so it half-full, you can do this with or without the top plate being in place. Ensure the plugs are installed on the ends
  • Lower the top plate and/or growing baskets into position. Remove one of the baskets to check the water level and fill accordingly so it’s not higher than the top of your soil/growing medium. This should be enough water for a few weeks, but it’s always advised to check the water based on surrounding temperatures
  • Add nutrients to the water. It's best to seek advice from your local garden centre or nursery about what nutrients to use with the salad or plants you're growing
  • Once ready, plug in and turn the lamp on. Optimum lamp time is 8 to 14 hours. Adjust as necessary, some leaves may need more or less light.
  • Prune as required, the leaves shouldn’t touch the light

OK. Drag to setup. Needs more stable feet

I was glad to find these. The benefits of having them in a recording setup is helping suppressing noise for a vocal booth. It's a layer that surrounds the recording box. Nice! (But away from audio hardware or DAW). Here is the not so nice part: The feet! It's able to stand (as it needs to do this). But it cannot be bumped. If it does, it's coming down onto something. I believe the feet units are not wide enough (or long enough). That makes for an easier tumble risk. So far, they haven't, but it's like being in the woods over leaves - it feels dangerous with every step! (That's actually true). They are tall enough, wide enough, material OK. But the feet for the main assembly do not seem sturdy enough. There are ways to help that. I'm thinking a 2x4 to augment the base. Make them wider. It can be done. It was a drag to set these up, and I'm sure to modify them like i'd want them. But, they do come in at a much lower price that other similar dividers. Consider all this because I've seen more solid dividers ( with padding) that would basically be the 1/2 cost of these. But i'd think they'd be easier to assemble, stand sturdier, and without that feeling of an impending fall (or fail). This is my opinion. I hope it helps.

The owner of this product sent me the incorrect pieces when I tried to install. It didn’t fit. The pieces were missing holes and once I connected the wrong pieces after knowing now they’re stuck and I can’t return them even though Amazon was kind enough to refund me. I just want to warn people this product is such a disappointment because it looks good. It’s good price, but you can’t even assemble the thing very disappointed.

Assembly is harder than it should be; you get what you paid for

Assembly is harder than it should be, mainly because there shouldn't BE any assembly. I have ordered several room divider privacy screens over the last couple of years and not one of them needed any kind of assembly. With that aside, it STILL was a pain in the sphincter to assemble. One of the "legs" just sits on top of a foot plate - it's not screwed in to anything. It's kind of flimsy and the base plates don't have anything on them to not scuff up the floor. With all that said, though, it does stand up and will block out what I need to block out. At the less-than-$50 price-point, it's kind of what should be expected. If I had purchased this outright, I would have considered sending it back and getting a higher quality. But if you only have $50 to spare and don't mind assembling things, it could be good for you.
