Antique French Majolica Barbotine Jardinière Hunt Stag Onnaing Cache Pot Planter.

Direct from France, a gorgeous 19^th century antique French majolica jardinière or cache pot!

The cache pot is an elegant rectangular shape, having deeply scalloped upper rim and base, and an exquisite ‘hunting motif’.  Large high relief, hand painted stag head on the center front, with a hunting rifle, horn and game bag below.  More ‘hunt’ accents with a boar’s head and goose below, all surrounded by oak leaves, branches and acorns.

Each side also features oak branches, veined oak leaves and acorns, with the same design across the entire back.

A lovely design, perfect for a hunting lodge or ranch, skillfully hand painted in rich tones of browns, blues, greens, and white, with traditional pale blue Onnaing style interior.  Maker’s marks on the bottom for further authentication, circa1890.

Measurements:  10” ht.  x 15.25” x 10”.
