Aglaonema 'Maria Christina'

Aglaonema 'Maria Christina' is a light silver-green Chinese evergreen with an upright, compact habit. Its leaves are heavily marked in silvery green, with darker green around the blade keeping the crown softly defined.

The plant grows as a tropical evergreen clump and usually remains manageable indoors. Its foliage carries the colour; the occasional flowers are typical Araceae spathes and spadices, usually held low within the crown.

Aglaonema 'Maria Christina' pale-silver traits

  • Light green leaves strongly marked with silvery green
  • Compact upright habit, commonly around 50 cm indoors
  • Dense evergreen crown with slow to moderate growth
  • Smooth elongated leaves carried on short stems
  • Warm-room foliage plant for filtered light and balanced watering

Silver foliage and crown development

Aglaonema 'Maria Christina' is a cultivated Aglaonema grown for its pale, silver-dominant foliage. Mature plants produce elongated leaves with a smooth surface and a broad blade, giving the crown a soft, luminous look in filtered indoor light.

New shoots develop from the base and increase the plant’s density over time. In pots, it grows evenly with a stable root zone, warm conditions and a container size that lets the substrate dry gradually between waterings.

Aglaonema 'Maria Christina' care guide

  • Light: Place in bright filtered or medium indirect light. Keep the pale leaf tissue out of hot sun.
  • Watering: Water when the upper 2–4 cm of substrate feel dry. Keep the root ball evenly moist during active growth and avoid long dry spells.
  • Substrate: Use a loose, moisture-retentive mix with coco coir, fine bark and perlite. The roots need oxygen around the lower crown.
  • Temperature: Keep at 18–27 °C. Protect the plant from cold draughts and temperatures below 16 °C.
  • Humidity: Average room humidity is usually adequate. Stable humidity reduces stuck or marked new pale growth.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth, about monthly at reduced strength. Pale leaves may show salt stress as brown tips.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots fill the pot. Use a modest size increase to keep watering predictable.
  • Flowers: Cut out spathes to keep the crown leaf-focused.
  • Propagation: Divide rooted basal shoots during repotting, or root stem sections in warm, humid conditions.
  • Mineral substrate: It can adapt to mineral or semi-hydro substrates when transitioned gradually and kept warm through the change.

Tip, patch and root checks

  • Yellow lower leaves: Check the lower root ball for trapped moisture, dry pockets or compacted substrate.
  • Brown tips: Fertiliser salts, uneven watering or dry heated air are common triggers. Flush the mix and reduce feeding.
  • Grey, oily-looking patches: Cold exposure is likely. Move the plant away from winter glass, draughts and unheated rooms.
  • Faded or scorched areas: Strong sun can mark the pale tissue. Move the plant into softer filtered light.

Very Good Paper for Everyday Personal and Business Use
Size: 1500 Sheets (24lb)
I have purchased these 3 packs of this 24lb letter-sized paper several times. It is just fine for everyday usage and I have no problem with it in my Canon B&W and Color laser printers. Print quality is good and sharp. This is much better than the fairly flimsy 20lb and is very suitable for ordinary business usage. It also works quite well for two-sided printing as the back side does not show through. But it is not 28lb+ manuscript quality and should not be expected to be.

My Go-To Sublimation Paper — Flawless Results Every Time
Size: 8.5"x11", Size: 8.5"x11"
This is hands down the best sublimation paper I’ve used and the only one I continue to buy. I get a perfect transfer every single time—no fracturing, no fading, and no uneven results. The paper dries fast, which makes my workflow so much smoother, especially when I’m producing items in batches. I use this regularly to make air fresheners and tote bags for my small business, and the color payoff is always vibrant and crisp. The transfer rate is excellent, and it works beautifully on light-colored, high-quality polyester and other sublimation-ready surfaces. If you’re a small business owner or crafter who values consistency, quality, and ease of use, this paper is absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it and will continue to repurchase.

Best Sublimation Paper
Size: 8.5"x11"
I’ve been using A-Sub paper for my sublimation projects, and it is easily one of the best. The ink dries almost instantly once printed, so I don’t have to worry about smudging the design or getting those annoying "pizza wheel" marks from the printer rollers. The paper itself feels substantial and doesn't tear or curl easily. One of the biggest wins for me is that it never jams; it feeds through perfectly every time, saving me the frustration of wasting expensive ink and paper. When I go to press my designs, the ink releases almost completely, leaving very little behind on the paper and putting all that color onto the project. The final results look super professional, with colors that are vibrant and sharp rather than looking faded or dull. It has worked perfectly for everything I’ve tried so far, and if you want a reliable paper that gives you consistent, high-quality results, this is definitely the one to get.
