This can be achieved by placing seeds in a bag of moist sand, peat, or even a damp coffee filter, and into the refrigerator, or by sowing outdoors in the fall. Stratified seeds should emerge 14-21 days after planting; seedlings can be planted outside after all danger of frost is passed. Young plants overwinter best if mulched in the fall.
