Another great lavender from Peacetree Farms.  If you ever grew the lavender variety 'Phenomenal' you know what a large vigorous lavender is.  Sensational is a more refined version of Phenomenal and hits all the areas of improvement.  From the bigger blooms (see pic: sensational on left compared to phenomenal on right) to a more compact habit this variety is sure to be a workhorse in beds and borders.  The 4" spikes of deep purple blooms are borne from early summer all the way through the fall.  The first two pictures of the lavender hedge are one year old plants.

Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
