💜Papaver Somniferum ‘Maanzaad’ Grow and Care Instructions💜

Sow direct in spring and early summer for flowers this year. Dislikes root disturbance so it's best to sow where you want these poppies to flower. Seeds are tiny so do not cover them because they need light to germinate.

Choose the site. Poppies can handle partial sun to full sun. For the best results, choose a planting site with at least six hours of full sun per day.

Prepare the soil bed. Poppies can handle poor, infertile soil, they grow best in soil rich in organic matter.

Sow the poppy seeds. Poppy seeds prefer access to sunlight to germinate, so you don’t need to bury them beneath the soil. Instead, sow seeds by sprinkling them in across the flower bed. Next, sprinkle a light layer of soil over the top of the seeds, or simply press down on the seeds to embed them into the soil. Take care when watering to prevent the seeds being washed away.

Water. While poppies can handle drought, watering the soil thoroughly once a week can help the flowers thrive and encourage more blooms.

Weed. To prevent other plants from coming in and competing for water and nutrients, keep your poppy bed weed-free.

Deadhead. If you want to encourage more blooms in your poppy bed, use a process called “deadheading,” in which you remove old blooms to encourage new growth—when a bloom begins to wilt or fade, trim the flower back to the first leafed stem. However, don’t deadhead every bloom—if you allow some of the flowers to go to seed, they’ll naturally seed the bed for new growth the following season.

HEAVEY Duty!
Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue
Almost not destructible! My dogs chew through 99% of the toys we purchase, but never this one! The medium size is good for our Doberman with jaws of steel!

Great chew toy to keep around the house
Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue, Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue
This came highly recommended by the behavioural team at the animal shelter and it hasn't disappointed. It's interesting reading the reviews, because our power-chewer pit-mix who can get a chunk off a split antler in a matter of minutes, hasn't ever been able to get a bite out of this bone! This is a great play toy for her, because it's soft enough that we can throw it for her to fetch in the house without worrying about breaking/denting something and are able to pull it out of her mouth fairly easily once she brings it back (still hasn't learned "drop it!"). The bone isn't flavored, so she'll rarely go to it on her own to chew on, but we keep it near the couch so if she ever gets bitey, we have it close at hand to offer to her as a chewer. It's also entertaining to tuck it into her collar and have her figure out how to remove it to play with it (see photo for this game and size compared to 50lb mutt).

Best bouncy bone!
Color: Orange/Large, Size: Orange, Color: Orange/Large, Size: Orange
My pups love these bones! They are soft and rubbery, but very durable. Had them for a little over 6 months and it has survived my extreme chewers and many tug of war games, and only has a few puncture marks! They bounce on my concrete floors and my pup loves to play fetch with this. Great purchase

Excellent for aggressive chewers
Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue
First I would like to say I think Jolly Pets are the best line of dog toys out there if you have an aggressive chewer. Their products have amazed me! And I am not being paid for this review. I have a 155 lb mastiff that is an excellent behaved boy but loves to destroy his toys. I had this bone in large and it held up excellent for about 4-5 months. I ordered it again in medium size by mistake and after 2 weeks it already has pieces missing...my fault. My only complaint is the medium size in blue smells like vanilla perfume. I can't wash it off. Although my handsome boy doesn't seem to mind. I just reordered in large. Also ordered a few other Jolly Pet toys as I am amazed at how they hold up. The "soccer ball" is my dogs favorite. It reinflates itself again and again no matter how much chewing or wear and tear its given. It's just magic!

This company makes great toys for pitts!!
Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue, Color: Blue/Medium, Size: Blue
Our pitt LOVES this toy. The rubber is reeeaally tough. It’s well designed because it’s a slippery surface. You can tell from the video there’s a lot of squeaking from him trying to get a good grip. He found a pretty good spot to hook his upper teeth into the crevasse, but his bottom teeth kept slipping. As a side note, I wouldn’t leave any toy home alone with him that’s about 3 inches or smaller because dogs can choke on it, but that doesn’t make this any toy or company any less amazing. For toys I would leave home with a power chewer, take a look at that 4inch red ball made by this same company. He hasn’t made a dent in that thing and you can put treats in it. :)
