It’s the perfect single serving size. The inner fruit is reddish, with few seeds and very sweet and tasty. Even people who don’t like papaya enjoy the taste of this fruit. It flowers in spring with fruit ripening in fall. If you’re a northern grower, it’s best to transplant into a 3-gallon pot once you receive the plant to let it grow to its full potential. In a year or two, it should graduate to a 7-gallon pot. Gardeners in southern zones can plant ‘Emma’ directly in the garden. ‘Emma’ is a prolific fruiter.
