Please find for sale 10 pretty rare Ceiba Speciosa (formerly Chlrorisa Speciosa) seeds, commonly known as the Silk Floss Tree. In the UK, however, it is mainly grown as a bonsai specimen - its very popular with enthusiasts due the interesting shapes of the trunk and easy of cultivation.

Germination/Sowing Guide

  • Sow at any time of year
  • Soak the seeds in water for 2 days
  • Prepare a tray of free draining sandy compost mix
  • Compost should be moist but not wet
  • Sow seeds on surface and tamp gently to ensure agood contact
  • Cover very thinly with sand or fine grit
  • Loosely cover with a plastic dome or bag with some air holes
  • Keep at 17-24C - heat may may be required if heating off at night
  • Mist regularly with  water and ensure surfact does not dry out
  • Germination usually occurs within 4 to 6 weeks but is naturally eratic

I got a medium for bust room so it was just a smidge loose in the waist but not bad enough that I wouldn't have kept it if it didn't have big snags in front. For being $90 it should absolutely not be see through.
