🌱 Growing instructions
- Sowing: For best results, start seeds indoors at any time.
- Scarification (Required): The extremely hard seed coat must be broken. Carefully file or nick one spot on the side of the seed until you see the cream-colored interior. Do not damage the pointed tip.
- Soaking: After scarifying, soak seeds in warm water (75-85°F), changing the water daily. Seeds will swell and sprout in about a week.
- Planting: Once sprouted, gently place the seedling in a pot with heavy loam or clay soil, leaving the sprout tip exposed. Submerge the pot in water, keeping the water level a few inches above the soil.
- Light Requirement: Full Sun.

I’m not sure why the promotional photos show these hooks with the bent ends pointing down. To me that makes no sense, as it seems they are using them upside down.
It makes more sense to me to have the bent ends point up, so the items being stored do not slide off. Additionally, the shorter bent hooks make no sent to have on the top, as they would limit how far back you could place a shovel or other tool.
When using the hooks with the bent ends pointing up, you can place your lighter bulkier items on the long hooks, but then use the short hooks for those heavier items (if they fit), as that gets them closer to the magnets and will have less leverage to make the magnetic hooks fall free from the metal they are trying to be attracted to.
In my example photos, you can see how the shorter hooks do not obstruct the shovels and other tools from being stored properly and the bent ends then also help to prevent the tools from sliding off the hook.
Overall, I am very happy with the hooks. I’ve had a fondness for magnets since I was a kid, so I have a very realistic expectation of the limits of magnets and these magnetic hooks perform as well as I would expect.
