Darlingtonia californica or the Cobra Lily is in a class by itself among North American pitcher plants. It's tall, twisting lime-green tubes form a bulbous hood with numerous large windows. An appendage resembling a forked tongue hangs from the opening on the underside of the hood. Generally a lime-green, it develops a red tint in full sun. The hoods are richly laced with large white areoles (windows). Its twisting traps are the most complex of all pitcher plants. Darlingtonia is clump forming, and with underground stolons, develop a nice colony in time. It grows in serpentine gravel soils along cold, fast running mountain streams in zones 6-9. Darlingtonia struggles in cultivation where its roots are not kept wet and cool (50s°F). Despite this challenge, the Cobra Lily is a curious, and much sought-after specimen. Flowers are yellow and bell-shaped, resembling small Sarracenia. The small flowers are green and red. They generally bloom from April to July before the pitchers fully develop. Winter foliage stays green. Darlingtonia is named in honor of William Darlington, a 19th century botanist from Pennsylvania. It is a monospecific species. This stock is a mix of coastal and mountain forms of Darlingtonia. Our choice based on availability.

Seed Packs are fresh harvested in Fall, and stored refrigerated. Seed count is approximate, but reliable.

Note: For higher germination cold moist stratification is required. We recommend using our Stratification Sand. All seeds are produced from open pollination within our collection. Some cross pollination among different cultivars may occur. Growing carnivorous plants from seeds is best suited for the experienced and patient grower. See our webpage on Growing CPs from Seeds.

Protect Your iPad
Color: Tea Brown, Color: Tea Brown
Perfect case for my iPad! I love the leather feel of the case especially for professional work settings. The exterior pocket is helpful to hold business cards or any document. I’ve had no problems with the case. The magnetic component keeps my tablet secure and the tablet stays in place when adjusting it. The keyboard connects via Bluetooth and I love that it has different colors to choose from. The light does not stay on the entire time, but it has a button to click on when you need the keyboard backlight on. I don’t use my iPad frequently but this case gets the job done. I always take it with me on flights without an issue and my tablet is always protected.

Affordable and Stylish Folio
Color: Blossom
Things to note: They keyboard requires charging. The keyboard is loose in the folio. For some reason I assumed it was attached. It's not unusable but a little tricky. I would have preferred it anchored into the folio. The folio itself self is lovely and well made. The keyboard feels like I better baby it or one wrong move and I might end it. I wouldn’t recommend it for heavy handers but I do appreciate the feel and lightness. I do wish I had listened to my husband and sprung for a pricier model with pass through charging but for the budget I feel I’ve gotten a good deal on a very elegant looking and functioning case.
