Pilea peperomioides, commonly known as the Chinese Money Plant, is a much-loved houseplant with distinctive round, coin-shaped leaves held on long, elegant stems. Its clean, architectural form makes it a perfect choice for modern interiors, shelves and side tables.

Native to southern China, this easy-care plant is well suited to life indoors and is ideal for both beginners and experienced plant owners. Over time, it produces small offsets (or “pups”) at the base, which can be propagated to grow new plants.

The Chinese Money Plant prefers a bright spot out of direct sunlight. As a semi-succulent, it stores some water in its leaves, so it’s best to allow the compost to partially dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.
