Though the tips may appear sharp, they are “spinose tips" which are actually soft to the touch and completely harmless. The pastel look of these plants is enhanced by a layer of seemingly iridescent farina, which is a powdery coating covering the leaves of the plant – take care not to mar this layer with your fingerprints while planting!

A larger Echeveria at 6 inches in diameter, these beauties are the perfect addition to a windowsill, terrarium planter, or even an outdoor rock garden (in temperate zones above 9a). Temperatures below freezing can cause the chubby leaves to scar irregularly, so these plants are best not planted directly in the ground in cooler climates.

Like many Echeveria, 'Tippy' prefers bright light with great airflow, as well as porous soil with adequate drainage. These conditions, combined with thorough watering only when the soil is completely dry, will help to avoid rot or pests.
