The Trillium plant is at risk in the wild so it is suggested that if you want to make organic herbs with this plant that you try cultivating the plant. Stratification required - SEEDS NEED A COLD, MOIST PERIOD FOLLOWED BY A WARM, MOIST PERIOD FOLLOWED BY A 2ND COLD, MOIST PERIOD.

To stratify seeds, store the seeds in some moistened peat, sand or paper towel in a closed container or sealed plastic bag. For cold stratification, place the container in the refrigerator. For warm stratification, store it somewhere where the temperature remains between 68 to 85 degrees
