Philodendron Pink Princess – The Rare and Stunning Variegated Indoor Climber

Introduction – Origins, Growth Habit, and Size
Philodendron Pink Princess is a rare and highly coveted tropical aroid native to the rainforests of Colombia. Known for its striking dark green leaves splashed with vibrant pink variegation, it captivates plant collectors worldwide. This vigorous climber can reach up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) indoors when supported by a moss pole or trellis, making it perfect for adding vertical interest to your indoor jungle. Its slow to moderate growth habit allows it to develop large, glossy, asymmetrical leaves that showcase its iconic pink splashes, making it a true statement piece in any plant collection.

Growth and Foliage Features (Climbing, Large Leaves, and Pink Variegation)

  • Produces large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves with unique pink variegation patterns

  • Natural climber that benefits from vertical support for optimal growth

  • Can reach heights up to 6 feet indoors under ideal conditions

  • Variegation intensity increases with bright, indirect light exposure

  • Slow to moderate grower, ideal for indoor plant enthusiasts seeking a rare specimen

Benefits and Design Impact (Vibrant and Eye-Catching)

  • Adds bold color contrast and artistic flair to modern indoor plant displays

  • Perfect centerpiece for curated plant shelves, living rooms, and offices

  • Enhances tropical, bohemian, and eclectic interior décor styles

  • Highly prized by rare plant collectors and social media plant influencers

  • Makes a vibrant focal point in mixed variegated plant collections

Ideal Placement in Home and Indoor Spaces (Bright and Supportive)

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light, avoiding harsh direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn

  • Best suited for living rooms, bedrooms, and home offices with filtered light

  • Requires vertical support such as moss poles or trellises to climb naturally

  • Complements minimalist pots and modern décor aesthetics

  • Prefers warm environments with moderate to high humidity levels

How to Encourage Strong Growth and Variegation (Light, Support, and Care)

  • Provide consistent bright, indirect light to maintain vivid pink coloration

  • Use moss poles or similar supports to encourage climbing and fuller growth

  • Keep humidity above 50% to prevent leaf crisping and promote healthy foliage

  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry, avoiding overwatering

  • Regular pruning encourages bushier growth and variegation expression

Improved Fertilization Guide (Balanced Feeding for Optimal Health)

  • Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer such as NPK 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 every 4-6 weeks during the growing season

  • Enrich soil annually with organic amendments like well-composted manure or worm castings

  • Avoid excessive nitrogen to preserve the intensity of pink variegation

  • Flush soil periodically to prevent salt buildup from synthetic fertilizers

Common Problems and Troubleshooting (Protect the Pink Variegation)

  • Loss of pink variegation often signals insufficient light—relocate to brighter areas

  • Brown leaf edges may result from low humidity or inconsistent watering

  • Yellowing leaves can indicate overwatering or poor drainage

  • Drooping stems typically suggest underwatering or root stress

  • Occasionally susceptible to spider mites and aphids—treat promptly with neem oil or insecticidal soap.

Poor quality control - maybe outlet store leftovers
Size: 11.5, Color: Burgundy Polished Full Grain
The two shoes were not the same size. They were both labeled 11 1/2 but one shoe was larger than the other and the fit was poor. I returned the first pair and ordered a replacement. This time the shoes were close to the same size but too loose and the left one has sewing issues. I've bought Johnston & Murphy for years because of the quality. These were to replace an existing pair of burgundy penny loafers that have finally worn out (even after several heal/sole replacements). That is the expected quality. I suspect Nashville Shoe Warehouse may be handling shoes that didn't measure up for the quality; more like an outlet mall than getting the J&M quality I've come to expect. Update: went to Johnston & Murphy site to buy "direct" from the manufacturer. There were several recent reviews where the shoes were long and didn't fit properly. Genesco - please step up the manufacture / crafting of these classic shoes to the level of quality they used to have.

Size: 9, Color: Black Polished Full Grain
My husband enjoys wearing these shoes. Very classy looking. They fit well. They arrived quickly. He liked them so much he ordered another pair in a different color which have worked out just as well.

Way too narrow
Size: 9.5 Wide, Color: Burgundy Polished Full Grain
I ordered a wide in this shoe, but it was still way too narrow. I had to return them. Otherwise, it looked like a nice quality shoe.

I usually wear 11.5's, but I buy 1/2 size smaller to accommodate for stretch. Leather relaxes.
Size: 11, Color: Burgundy Polished Full Grain
5 STARS: These shoes are awesome. I keep coming back for more. I have major foot problems, have tried all kinds of shoes, orthotics, and inserts... but believe it or not, these shoes work better than any of that stuff. I wear them daily. I buy lots of them, for home, for church, and I'm getting my first pair of J&M boots today, for winters in Indiana... Brrrr

Great price great shoe
Size: 12, Color: Burgundy Polished Full Grain
Excellent shoe. Tried the Sebago penny loafer and the sizing was ridiculous. These J and M are sized perfectly. I’ve had them before and they wear like iron. Very comfortable right out of the box.
