The leaves are sword-shaped and bright green, and grow to form a funnel into the plant to distribute water. After the plant blossoms, the edible fruit begins to form. To harvest your pineapple fruit, wait until it turns completely yellow to orange, then grab the fruit near the top, twist sideways, and it will easily snap off.

The medium pineapple plant comes in a 6” pot, and should be placed in a bright, sunny spot. This plant can be toxic to pets, cats, and dogs if ingested. The immature fruit is poisonous and can cause throat irritation and stomach problems.

I’m tempted to get more for the other rooms in my apartment- it’s really the perfect shelf. It’s super multi-functional for organization/storage and decor + very affordable for the superior quality and appearance.
