While it can tolerate brief submersion, long-term underwater growth is not ideal, as it prefers roots in water and leaves above the surface.

This plant thrives in low to moderate lighting and requires consistently high humidity (above 70%) for best growth. It does not require CO₂ supplementation in emersed culture but benefits from nutrient-rich substrates and occasional foliar misting or fertilization. It’s extremely beginner-friendly and can survive a wide range of water parameters.
