Aloe 'Dragon' is a compact, highly ornamental Aloe hybrid with sculptural blue-green leaves adorned with pink tubercles and spines. Originally bred at the Huntington Botanical Gardens by Karen Zimmerman - known for her pioneering work in hybrid aloe breeding - this rare selection brings fine texture and vivid color to small garden spaces and container displays.

Zimmerman, a longtime succulent propagator at the Huntington, developed 'Dragon' as part of her early efforts to create aloes with ornate foliage and fantasy-like form. This cultivar was introduced in 2010 through the Huntington’s International Succulent Introductions (ISI) program and remains a favorite among collectors.

Tight rosettes grow up to 8 inches wide on short upright stems, staying under 1 foot tall overall. In spring, slender flower spikes rise up to 2 feet bearing orange-red blooms with green tips. Drought-tolerant and well suited to full sun or bright shade with excellent drainage.

Cold-hardy to around 25–30°F. Best in USDA Zone 9 and up, or grown in containers that can be sheltered in winter. A standout choice for collectors and design-focused plantings.
