Whereas the true Pleiospilos nelii has a silky golden-apricot flower, the less-common cultivar 'Royal Flush' has a deep rose flower with a white center. Extremely succulent pair of purple-gray leaves form a clefted egg-shaped body known as a bi-lobe. Leaves are dotted with myriad tiny dots that are in fact stomates (pores in the epidermis). • Fertilizing: Feed sparingly, only during the growing season (spring and summer), using a balanced, low-nitrogen fertilizer diluted to about half the recommended strength.
