This plant is native to South Africa and is popular among lovers of succulent plants and bonsai due to its attractive appearance, with a stem that seems segmented, resembling a bonsai.

The "Bonsai Mint" grows up to about 30 cm tall and has thick, succulent, light green stems. The leaves are small, round, and fleshy, with a gray-green shade and a soft downy texture. They emit a mild minty scent when rubbed, hence the common name "Bonsai Mint."

During the flowering period, the plant produces small, tubular flowers in white or pinkish-lilac, arranged in ascending clusters resembling spikes.

Plectranthus ernstii is an easy-to-care-for plant and prefers well-drained soils rich in organic matter. It is drought-tolerant and requires moderate watering, with the soil needing to dry out between waterings. It prefers partial sun exposure or strong filtered light. Exposure to temperatures below 10°C is not recommended.
