Indoor Plant Soil Mixture Ingredients

Life begins in the dirt. Our premium houseplant potting soil is made from organic ingredients, which together, form a synergistic melody of optimized nutrition. In the right proportions, these pristine elements work together to naturally increase your plants’ overall health and ability to thrive. 

Perlite: A porous volcanic glass that manages moisture content within indoor potting soil. You will find that it allows excess water to drain away easily while also retaining the perfect amount needed for plant hydration. It also helps aerate the soil because it contains tiny air pockets. It is also lightweight and helps to give the houseplant soil mix a better texture. 

Ground Pine Bark: Adds a little acidity, nutrition, and facilitates excellent root growth. It also allows water to drain away easily and helps to create looser, more aerated soil. 

Sand: This ingredient helps reduce soil compaction. 

Garden Lime: Agricultural lime creates the ideal soil conditions for indoor plants by setting the perfect pH level. It also helps plants access more nutrients from the soil itself. 

Coconut Coir: This sustainable and fibrous material holds soil together without compacting it. Plus, it adds nutritive elements, helps retain moisture, and provides the right amount of lightweight organic material for a superior soil constitution.

It’s $30 to return and quickly STINKS from body heat

Original review about $30 return below, but since it cost to return I gave it to my husband. He’s a hot sleeper so other than this pillow we’ve switched to all cotton, linen or wool bedding and it’s made a huge difference. (Polyester is plastic so it reflects your heat back to you and makes you sweat more and doesn’t breathe.) I truly would not have kept this pillow except $30 felt like a waste just to return and he got excited about it. So okay, it’s his. Well I’m the laundry queen in our household (he does all dishes) and I realized very quickly this pillow would need to be washed OFTEN. Like, once a week is NOT enough. Something about body heat and this material smells HORRIBLE. Washing it is obviously not easy, so I handwash the outer layer of the pillow with a very gentle soap (bought for silk). And then it has to hang dry. It doesn’t matter. I can clean it perfectly, no smell remaining whatsoever, but after two nights, it’s so strong I can smell it JUST STANDING NEAR THE BED. Look. I mentioned my hubs sleeps hot, sure. But he’s hygienic. This should not be such an issue. It’s never been an issue with any other pillows. The smell doesn’t even smell like him or like B.O. or anything. It’s awful and legitimately churns my stomach. But can I throw out the stupid $200 thing? Noooo. Now he’s attached. And I’m spending hours of my life each week washing it to keep from feeling sick sleeping near it at night. And to avoid having wasted $200. Hate this thing. DON’T BUY THIS STUPID PILLOW. Dropping from 2 stars to 1 Because of the smell. Original review: I thought I could buy this and see if the height would work for me. It didn’t, and pinched my neck instead. But now the *only* way to return it is to ship through UPS (not return to the UPS Store or Kohl’s or Whole Foods, which would be free). I was going to return it and try a different size, but such a high price just to *try* it is not worth it to me. I’ve returned much larger (defective) items in the past without hassle or cost (like an entire heavy duty garage shelf with broken pieces). Had I known, I would not have ordered in the first place, so I hope this saves someone else. As for the pillow itself, it was unique, but I couldn’t even really lay my head on it for more than a moment until I had let it air out for more than a week. It REEKED upon arrival. My husband said it smelled like ozone, and my brother compared it to the inside of an airplane. It burned my throat if I tried to lay on it for more than about 30 seconds at a time. Two and a half weeks later, the smell is still slightly there. So even if it was comfy for me, I would not keep this pillow.
